Chapter One - The Beginning Of The End
The world was about to end. Many people had already lost their lives. The few remaining were trying to live their best lives. It was the last days. They were doing everything they had wished to do; after all, soon they would be in the afterlife, where their free will would be completely taken away from them. In A small Apartment, a table was placed at the center. Four people stood around the table, discussing profusely as if their lives depended on the outcome of the discussion. In truth, their lives depended on it. The four people were all promising youths: two men and two women. "Canaan Town is now empty. The Beast of Armageddon visited Canaan, killed all its inhabitants." A man announced. He was rewarded with murmuring, despair, and anguish from the rest of the people present. "I hate to admit it, but we are next." One of the ladies said sadly. "Maybe we should just run away from Valley Town." The second lady suggested. "Nowhere is safe. Sooner or later, the Beast of Armageddon will conquer the whole world. I'll prefer dying in my hometown." The second man replied. "Or maybe, instead of surrendering or running, we should think of a way to conquer the beast." The first man suggested. "I hate to be the one to break the news, but the Beast of Armageddon is unstoppable." The first lady said. "We are all going to die." "No one is dying." A voice that didn't belong to any of the four men and women said. They all turned quickly, disbelief and excitement on their faces when they saw the man standing in the doorway. The first lady ran and threw herself into the embrace of the man. "Derek, you're alive." She sobbed uncontrollably. "Great, here we were thinking all the Canaan inhabitants were dead. Looks like we have one survivor." The second lady said. "How did you manage to stay alive?" The first man asked his best friend, Derek. "A mysterious man saved me from the beast's attack." Derek replied. "That makes no sense, dude. The military couldn't defeat the beast. How can one man outsmart the beast and save you?" The second man asked. "He sprinkled some dust around him and me. The beast couldn't cross the dust and had to walk away." Derek replied. "This is hilarious." The first man, named Jake, laughed. "Guns couldn't stop the beast. Am I supposed to believe mere dust can stop this beast?" Derek breathed and sighed. "I guess there is only one way to find out." Erica, the lady who ran to hug him when he was at the doorway, shook her head. "Derek, don't tell me you're planning on fighting this beast?" Erica couldn't believe what her lover intended to do. "Man, I know you're brave and intelligent, but this is stupidity. You don't think you can use dust to take down a killer monster, do you?" Ryan, the second man, asked. "It isn't mere dust. It is wolfsbane mixed with mistletoe and mountain ash. I need to take my chances. If I don't, we will still die. We are doomed either way. There is nothing to lose." Derek assured them. "You're no hero, Derek. How about we run away to any place the beast can't find us?" Erica suggested with tears in her eyes. "We can't outrun the beast, Erica. No one can. You have to let me fight it." Derek pleaded. Erica shook her head profusely. "I can't let you fight it. You're gonna die." She continued sobbing. "We're doomed either way." Derek murmured. "Alright, how about we fight together?" Silver, the second lady, suggested. "How can you fight something you don't even have the slightest idea about?" Derek said disapprovingly. "If no one is asking, I will. Who is the Beast of Armageddon?" Jake asked. "He's a werewolf. Not just any werewolf, he is an alpha werewolf who kills for sport." Derek explained. "And you think your mountain ash, mistletoe and wolfsbane can stop him?" Silver asked. "I've got the perfect plan to stop him. And I will need your help." Derek replied.
