Chapter 6: I'll Treat You to Lunch

1017 Words
Shirley looked at Charlie innocently. She had nowhere to vent her grievances, and her heart was broken. The dim light shone on her head, forming layers of wonderful halos. Charlie swallowed hard. This woman had fair skin, long and thick eyelashes, and sexy shoulders, which were all tempting him. An unprecedented heat instantly shot through his body, and his breathing became heavy. Sudden kisses landed on her lips, cheeks, and neck. Shirley was completely unprepared. When she realized it, she shouted, "What are you doing?!" However, she had been pressed against the wall by him, unable to move her body. There was a flash of anger on her face, and she stamped her feet hard, but it didn't stop his offensive kisses. Charlie's hands caressed her body with a burning temperature. He raised her chin and forced her to look straight into his eyes. The uncontrollable impulse surged in his body. The atmosphere in the room became ambiguous. She was afraid of him at this moment. Shouldn't he hate me very much? He had so many women, so he wouldn't be so desperate for me, would he? However, she was still too innocent to guess what he was thinking. He tightened his grip on her chin and his knuckles turned white. "Charlie, are you crazy?" She was in so much pain that she spoke without thinking. Charlie looked at Shirley, who rarely shouted at him, with interest. He mocked. "Am I crazy?" At the critical moment, Shirley was so scared again that she didn't dare to answer any of his questions. Looking at her watery eyes, he suddenly came to his senses. He pounded the wall angrily, making loud sounds. Shirley didn't even dare to breathe. He glanced thoughtfully at her again, then suddenly turned around and strode away. Shirley was still standing in the same place, frightened out of her wits. It wasn't until the footsteps disappeared that she dared to breathe a sigh of relief. She found Charlie weird, so she thought she'd better not provoke him in the future. However, on second thought, she considered that he had to take on such a heavy responsibility for the family business at this age. It was normal for him to be a little stressed. She shrugged and hoped that when her uncle and auntie were not home, she would not go home as much as possible to avoid being alone with him. Charlie locked himself in the room and took a hot shower. He hated it very much that he lost control twice in front of her. He clearly had no such feelings for other women. She was very dangerous... ---The next morning--- Shirley didn't eat breakfast and had gone back to school before Charlie got up. When she arrived at the dormitory, it was only eight o'clock in the morning, and her roommates were still in bed. After swiping her card and opening the door, she tried her best to keep quiet. Before she could sit down, she heard a rustling sound on the bed. Then, a roommate poked her head out of bed. "Shirley, you're back? Why did you return so early?" Shirley smiled and said, "I have nothing to do at home, so I might as well go back to school. I still have homework to do." Tina pouted. "Well, when you're done, let me have a look." Shirley could only smile. Tina was this kind of person. Other than sleeping, she was most interested in handsome guys. "By the way," Tina suddenly poked her head out again, "the fruit on your table was sent by Ivan." Shirley looked at her desk and was a little surprised. "Shirley, Ivan really loves you. He's also a good-looking guy. Are you really not going to consider him as your boyfriend?" Tina continued to say. Shirley's face was flushed red. She had always known how considerate Ivan was towards her. However, he had never crossed the line. Did he really like me as Tina said? "Tina, stop talking nonsense." "I don't." Tina stuck her tongue out. Knowing that she couldn't win the argument, Shirley didn't argue. Her cell phone rang at the time. It was an unknown number. After hesitating for a moment, she finally accepted the call. "Shirley." A familiar voice rang out. It was like a cheerful melody. Shirley frowned slightly and soon remembered who she was. "Monica?" "Hi, it's me. I asked Andrew for your phone number." Shirley was absent-minded for a moment. When she heard the name "Andrew", her heart was filled with bitterness. "What's the matter?" Shirley asked softly. "Are you at school? I'm going to your school at noon. Come out and I'll treat you to lunch." Shirley opened her mouth, and felt a little surprised. She and Monica had only met once. However, despite her doubt, she did not ask this question. Instead, she said with a sweet smile, "Okay." "I'll wait for you at South Gate at noon. I'll call you." "Okay." After hanging up the phone, Shirley wondered why Monica asked her out. However, she did want to have some contact with Monica, as she was Andrew's girlfriend. Although Kingtech University was located in the suburbs of Kingsford, it was really big. It would take half an hour to drive around inside. There were four gates in total at Kingtech University; East Gate, North Gate, West Gate, and South Gate. South Gate was the smallest but it was also the one with the most visitors. Outside South Gate, there was a small street with all kinds of snack shops, which attracted many students. Shirley stood by the roadside and soon found Monica in the crowd. Monica lowered her head to look at her cell phone. Although it was late autumn, she was still wearing a short skirt, revealing two long and fair legs. Standing there motionless, she became a beautiful scenery. Shirley smiled and walked over slowly. "Monica," she said softly, standing next to her. When Monica looked up, a bright smile appeared on her face. She placed her hand on Shirley's shoulder in a familiar way.
