Chapter 1
“help! Help me!” a woman yelled out as she fell near some garbage cans. “got you” a voice whispered into her ear.
Ake yawned as he hit his pen rapidly on his desk. His dark brown hair slightly falling over his eyes, his face wore a blank expression, making it hard to guess what he was thinking. The class let out a sigh as they heard the final bell ringing. “Ake!” a dirty blond-haired boy put his arm around the boy. “ You’re too loud, Hiroto” Ake said, shrugging the arm off. The two walked outside the school. “Be careful. See ya!” the blonde and Ake parted ways. Walking towards his house, the boy passed an alleyway that was blocked with yellow and black tape. He felt someone staring at him and sighed. “ You are attracting too much attention.” “I know I know I'll try to be careful.” A young man came and patted Ake's head. Flicking the man's hand away, Ake stared at his face. A small smile made its way to the man’s face. “ You won’t have to worry about it in a couple of months. We both know that we are losing time.” “ Yes, I know Ikoro.” Ake started walking again. Ikoro followed and the two went inside a house.
Ikoro and Ake were both sons of a wealthy man. But the father spent his days wasting money on alcohol and gambling. The oldest son, Ikoro, was kidn*pped for ransom, but his father couldn’t care less and continued his life slacking off. Ake constantly begged his father but he wouldn’t change his mind. He had more money left for himself and he would still have an heir. Months passed with the cruel father not caring about his oldest, and one day Ikoro returned looking sick. The maid who opened the door was surprised to see Ikoro, but when she called out to him, the boy pounced on him and bit her neck. The maid’s screams made the rest come see what was happening. There was their young master and a maid on top of a pool of blood. The father and another couple of maids stared at him horrified. Ikoro looked up to see them and made his way to them as well. Hearing the commotion, Ake arrives to see Ikoro feeding on humans like an animal. The hall floor was covered in blood. Many dead half-eaten bodies lay on the floor. “ Brother?” Ake called out to him. Ikoro’s eyes met Ake’s. The young boy had fear in his eyes but happiness as well. “ It's really you!” Ake ran toward Ikoro. “Ake, do you still see me as your brother?” Ikoro asked, his voice not any older than a whisper. “ Yes. “ Ake nodded. “even though I kill and eat humans?” Ikoro asked he spoke as if he hated himself mad it didn’t go unnoticed by Ake. The younger brother nodded again. Tears filled Ikoro’s eyes. That day, more than half of the staff died. Ake and Ikoro lit the house on fire and burned all the evidence. The news of Ikoro’s return was not told to anyone. The brothers’ aunt became Ake’s guardian. With Ake being only 11 at the time. The aunt being an awfully busy woman, she provided Ake with a comfortable house and some servants to take care of it. And so Ikoro stayed there with Ake, unknown by his aunt. Ake and Ikoro are devoted to searching for the reason for Ikoro’s state and who is responsible for it. They wanted to know why Ikoro turned in to something inhumane
