Chapter Thirty-ThreeI can feel my eyes drooping, my body slumping. I’m so tired. I haven’t slept properly in weeks. Hardly at all over the last few days. It feels like it’s suddenly catching up with me now, all at once. ‘Alex?’ Mum shakes my shoulder. ‘What?’ My voice sounds snappier than I meant it to. But why does she have to shake me like that? It’s not like I actually did doze off. I didn’t even give myself a chance of an early night last night, though. When I got back from the library I lined up a load of documentaries online and watched them one after the other, hunched at my desk with two cans of Coke to keep me going. I can’t remember actually falling asleep, but I think I missed the end of the final one, which I started at around 2 am. It’s not like any were particularly helpful
