Chapter NineteenIt’s been a week since I ran away from Duce and I’ve been avoiding him at school ever since. But I’ve got bigger problems than him and his Apes; Callum, Daisy and I have decided it’s time to explore more avenues on our quest to discover what lies beyond. So after school we’re going to the hospital.
‘Are you excited?’ Daisy asks, biting into her apple. The juice dribbles down her chin.
‘About what?’
‘Speaking to the doctor!’ she exclaims.
‘Excited? I wouldn’t say I’m excited, no,’ I laugh. And I’m not. But I’m definitely interested.
‘I am.’ She takes another bite. ‘It’ll be so cool. Just think, this guy’s gonna have so much… So much experience. And knowledge. He’ll have been right there, in the action, when someone dies…’ I see Callum shoot her a look and she trails off
