The Alpha's mansion looked different even from such a vast distance. The difference was more than the change in color from cream to beige. The air felt new and far removed from what it used to be. The entire pack felt different.
I had just walked through the border with the two watch dogs that Jett assigned to guard me. The female who was to "make sure I behaved" led the way while the male walked behind us.
On the way down here, I'd considered many different ways to escape but couldn't come up with anything. Maybe that was for the best. I must first get my pound of flesh from this bîtch in front of me. She would pay for hitting me earlier.
