"Wow! You look so beautiful. You're like a princess" an old woman's voice rang as she smiled at a little girl.
"Then you are a queen"the girl replied as she stared at the old woman with a bright and pure smile. They held hands and walked around a field filled with bright white lilies and suddenly heavy panting was heard.
"Sweetheart run"the old woman screamed as her blood ran down her face and her bones started to break.
"Don't leave me. Please stay."the little girl shouted to the old woman whose hand felt far away and she couldn't reach. The old woman tried to approach the girl, "don't go. Stay. Please stay." the little girl shouted and the old woman simply smiled before everything went dark.
A woman woke up immediately. It was the same dream. She sees it every single night and it never changes. The old woman who was her only family and her younger self.
"This keeps getting worse."the woman muttered as she got up and walked to the mirror, looking at herself. She had long, messy black hair with plain and smooth vanilla colored skin. She washed up and put on her uniform with an expressionless face. Yes, she worked as the head maid in a small count mansion. The mansion was owned by count Kael Fangston, the head of the Fangston borders. It was a small land at the border of the vampire territories. It had the strongest warriors who always participated in wars and almost never lost. She finished dressing and walked along the hallways. The woman sighed as she looked at a blood covered garden.
"Why can't vampires kill outside the mansion to make job easier?" She asked herself as she looked at the crimson color all around the garden. She sighed and began her routine. She addressed maids and made sure everything was spotless and arranged exactly to the likes of the count. "Flora. I want the garden arranged before noon. And before the count notices."the woman commanded a young chubby girl with green eyes and and smooth brown skin. As the head maid and what she had learned in life, there was no need to be sweet and nice to others.
"Yes miss Diana"the girl replied immediately and hurried out.The suddenly a voice spoke in her head "Why is my host so calm and annoyed today? Bad dream?". "Shut it Lucian" Diana replied with a cold tone "Just don't piss me off today".
Lucian only chuckled "Should I teach you some manners? You seem to forget who owns you"
Diana didn't reply and continue at the task at hand. "I wish I can find a way to remove you".
"You can't and that's the best part" Lucian replied with a deep chuckle, making Diana clench her fists in annoyance.
Lucian was the devil, yes, the devil himself. He was like an extra soul into Diana's body. He was mischievous and cunny and never failed to seize the opportunity to tease and mock her. Diana never complained much and learned to live with him ever since. She found out he was the devil after her fifth birthday and tried many ways to make him confess who he was and how he ended up in her body but he never said a word. She eventually stopped trying and just had to deal with his endless mockery and talks. But luckily, he never crossed boundaries that she set and both lived peacefully but yet at war.
Diana supervised the maids at their work as Lucian rambled on about how powerful and beautiful he was in her head. She stayed expressionless and never entertained him. She watched the warriors wrestling each other in the training grounds before a lady rushed to her at full speed.
"My lady. Miss Diana. Urgent news" the lady immediately said as she tried to catch her breath.
"What is it Stella?"she asked calmly not moving to help the blond girl who was panting from running.
"The count wants to see you"Stella replied after catching her breath and Diana eyes turned dark. And the reason? She hated the count.
She had known the count through her grandmother. Her grandmother was the counts personal healer. But after her death, she despised him and hated him to the core and vowed to kill him in the most painful way possible.
Diana gathered herself and headed to the count office. She knocked at the door "My lord. You wanted to see me".
"Yes. Come in" his voice boomed behind the door. Diana prepared herself for the next outcome as she opened the doors.
