Glossary Green thumb- Someone who has earth magic. Igniter- Someone who has fire magic. Light elements- Someone who has light associated magic. Magikan- A person who has magical abilities. Non-magikan- A person who does not have magical abilities. Water bringer- Someone who has water magic. Wind maker- Someone who has wind magic. The year is 1692 in Salem Massachusetts where magikan and the non-magikan lived somewhat peacefully together, though they lived in separate communities. Even then the non-magikan feared the magikan, for they fear in what they do not understand. At least that is what I will be told later on in life. I am born of the sun and moon. For was born when both the sun and moon was together in the sky. My parents are Sol-Dillon, Sun lion and Cynthia-Tabitha, Moon gazelle. Their natural gift or natural magic is associated with aspects of light. My parents named me Elena-Irene, light peace. It is tradition to name your child after the natural gift that will manifest on your fifth birthday as well as a personality or is a symbol of your personality. Days after my birth, on this very stormy, fateful night changed my life for the better or for the worse. This is where the tale begins.
