Chapter 6. Mystikí Selíni

There was a cool swell of air that brushed past her as Shay-Lee stood at the port with Zakari, Jake, Tilly and Adam. They were the welcoming party to the guests, these unknown visitors from an unknown place. They assumed Greece or somewhere like that, considering the name of their group or whatever they were was Greek as Lachlan explained when he considered the name. In fact, Shay-Lee was very nervous about the whole thing. The group was very closed up on information about themselves, just claiming they needed to have a meeting with the Alpha of High Moon and if they could not, then it would be bad for all. Shay-Lee had not been sure if that was a threat or something else was going on and with recent things happening, they knew they needed to be careful. Lachlan had agreed to see them though, as long as they understood there would be rules. The fact that he would have a guard ready and waiting, in case anything was to happen. They accepted that request, as long as in return, they got to speak and explain to him the meaning of their attendance. They did not ask for anything, and did not indicate if they were staying over night or not. Once Lachlan agreed to see them, they seemed to set a date and time and that was why Shay-Lee and the others were standing at the docks, awaiting their arrival. The only thing they really knew of these visitors was that they were coming by boat. They shared nothing more. Shay-Lee did not even know what to look for. The only thing she was confident about was the fact that they would be arriving at this present time, so she would know who they were the moment the boat pulled up. Glancing over at the others, Shay-Lee could see they were prepared, curious and concerned, but prepared. They had to be. These were unknown people and with so little information about them, they had to make sure nothing bad would take place. That was also the reason why some wolves were hidden in places, so if needed, they could come and assist take down the group. It was their back-up plan, but Shay-Lee hoped they would not need it. It was not long though, when Shay-Lee felt a presence near by and looking around, she was stunned. It seemed to just appear. Before her was a small yacht, white and looking very modern but still like there was something strange about it. Not to mention the fact that it was suddenly there, they had not even seen it arrive. Shay-Lee felt nervous and she could feel Tilly gasp a little to the side. Zakari, Jake and Adam seemed to sense the strange presence as well and became very alert. Their eyes watched the Yacht, scanning the small ship, waiting for something, anything. A door opening revealed six figures, tall and slim. Shay-Lee watched wordlessly, as they walked out of the compartment of the Yacht they had been in and as they walked over a small ramp that seemed to come from nowhere, it took all her should to not stand there stunned with her mouth open. It was as if they were floating as they moved, each wearing long thin flowing silver robes, all with long waist-length silver hair. Four females, two males, but even those two had long hair. They all had the same style diadem, likely white gold with curves and loops and gems. They were stunning too, almost perfect, with no flaws in them. Their size was impressive though. Being wolves, normally you would meet near seven-foot people. These six visitors were much taller, almost ten feet in height, which was somewhat intimidating. Shay-Lee even noticed as she looked at them, how they all seemed to share the same eyes, the brightest pale blue she had ever seen. As they came off their ramp, they glanced around, each holding their hands down at their waist in front of them, interlocking their own fingers. They were beings that she had never come across before. She was not even sure if they were wolves. Yet, she did not sense any emotion in her that indicated that these six people would be any kind of threat. Not that she would tell anyone to back down, because they still did not know and it was safer to be sorry. Which, as she thought, Shay-Lee was stunned to see one of the men raise an eyebrow, one of the women smiled a little and the other man seemed to hold back a small laugh. Glancing away from them all, which had him get a glance from the other male. “Very wise for you all to keep up your guard.” the raised man spoke softly. “However, we came not to harm but to speak. May we see your Brother.” Shay-Lee was stunned, she felt, they could read her thoughts and the fact that they somehow knew that Lachlan, the Alpha, was her bother, without saying anything. They either have done their research about High Moon or they could indeed read minds. Not that she had been thinking about Lachlan and him being her bother when these six people had arrived, she had just been thinking of how stunningly beautiful they were. Though, it seemed there would not be much greetings and small talk, and so with clearing her mind, Shay-Lee sharpened up and gave them a nod. She turned, as they headed to the awaiting vehicles. They had not known how many visitors were coming so they had bought four. Two of the visitors got into a car each, Shay-Lee and the others also got into a car each, Tilly staying close to Adam. Everything was silent and even from a kind link from the others, they explained all was silent in their vehicle’s as well. The visitors said no word to any of them. The drive to their next location was silent, as Shay-Lee took the lead car and they headed to the building where Lachlan did his main business and did a lot of Alpha work from. It was a tall building and they made their way to the underground packing spaces, making sure there was less attention upon the new visitors. Feeling that strange sense of an odd presence again, Shay-Lee looked around at the visitors as they all gathered. She was not sure if it was them, or if there was something else near, but it confused her, her senses felt off and even though she felt like it was not a bad thing, she still needed to be careful. They did not ask questions, as she shook the feeling off and had them follow her to the underground entry doors and then to the elevator. As they had not known who these people were when setting up the meeting, Lachlan had it planned that all the staff in the building would be busy when they arrived. That way, if anything bad was to happen, nobody would get hurt who was not a part of the guard. Shay-Lee could see how empty the main foyer of the building was and how all the elevators were clear. Adam took one group into an elevator and Shay-Lee took the other group. They all went up to the meeting room floor and this would be where Lachlan was now waiting, after Adam would have mind linked him the visitors had arrived. Walking to the door of the meeting room, Shay-Lee knocked and Lachlan spoke from within, telling them to enter. She opened the door and walked in, noting how he was not alone. A few of the guards were standing watch to the sides of the room, but right by his side was Winter, looking curious as the six visitors arrived into the room. Shay-Lee watched the whole thing, how they entered and seemed to stop, as their eyes too landed on Winter. She tilted her head to the side a little, as silence filled the room and then Shay-Lee saw Winter nod, as if she had a silent chat with somebody. Lachlan had been watching as well and was now the one with the curious look on his face. Shay-Lee had not known that Winter was going to be there, and was a little worried about her friend, but she had to be mindful to also trust Winer and Lachlan to both know what they were doing. “Please, everyone, take some seats.” Lachlan offered. “Would you like any refreshments?” “Just water.” The man who spoke to Shay-Lee spoke to Lachlan. “Han, would you kindly please,” Lachlan asked one of the guards. “Yes Alpha.” He replied with a small head bow and then walked out of the room. Shay-Lee was not sure if she would be able to stay or not, knowing these people had directly asked for the Alpha. Yet, they did not seem to worry about anyone else in the room, just Lachlan. So, glancing at the guard, the men she worked and trained with, Shay-Lee stood at the side of the room, standing in place, at attention, ready. Even then, she still felt that same presence as before and she could not help but wonder what it was. Was it a good thing or a bad thing? The visitors did not seem to notice anything and neither did anyone else around, unless, like her, they were not saying anything about it, not wanting to seem foolish. “I am Lachlan, Alpha of High Moon. This is my true half, Winter.” Lachlan spoke up introducing them. “Moon Dust, if we may correct you.” The man spoke back. “How do you know that?” Zakari asked from the side, shocked, not keeping silent. All eyes turned to him and Shay-Lee could see how her younger brother looked embarrassed by his sudden spoken words. He knows the rules, he is there as a guard, not a part of the meeting, he should not have said anything. Yet he had, maybe because unlike all others, he was always very open with what he thought about things and that was why he said things without being directly spoken to. Not that his question was not wrong, he was right. How did they know? “Your brother has a valid question, because we are here to discuss with you about Moon Dust.” The man spoke, looking from Lachlan to Winter and back again. “You siblings are protective, that is a good thing, that is what Moon Dust needs,” “May I ask whom you are and why you say such a thing?” Lachlan questioned. “We are a group known as the Mystikí Selíni, we are Hyperborea’s,” the main speaker stated. “Hyper what?” Zakari whispered. “Mythical people from the far northern part of the Known World….” Winter spoke, unsurely. “You surprise us with your knowledge of that.” The speaking male stated. “I research.” She stated. “But, what is your meaning of coming here?” “This is the reason, child,” He stated back. Shay-Lee watched from the wall she stood near as a small glowing orb seemed to appear in his hand. He reached so it floated in the middle of the table they were sitting at, between the visitors and Lachlan and Winter. The room was silent, wondering and waiting. Shay-Lee took in everything she knew so far, how they almost glided when they moved, how they were so tall, and all looked much the same, not to mention that they know thoughts and can clearly do some form of magical skills. She assumed they were witches… or fae or something else like that. She was not sure, but she knew it was not something they had yet come across before. As the room was silent, she saw it at the same time all the rest did. That small glowing orb started to shift and change, becoming the form of a being. In fact, if Shay-Lee was not mistaken, she was sure she knew who this orbed person was. She was beautiful with long flowing hair, and different to the visitors, her diadem, or more so, crown had a crescent moon shape on it. If she had been a real person, Shay-Lee was sure she would have been tall as well, her voice magical, and she would have been the most stunning of them all. Even that little orb form of hers, Shay-Lee felt like she wanted to bow her head to it. While their cultures were slightly different, Shay-Lee understood how this woman was worshipped in other cultures. Selene – The Moon Goddess. She was a part of the mythology, and many species respected her as the mother of werewolves. While technically the Clans of their cultures had wolves, like what Shay-Lee and her family were, they were not actually classed as werewolves. They did not develop from a bite. Their origins were from King Victor the Second, who discovered special stones that gave him the ability to shapeshift, to use magic and to become immortal- undead. His children each took a stone, choosing a wolf as his shifting spirit, and from there, his children had the ability, and it continued to run through very long blood lines, to now create many in their culture, divided up into many different clans, as they call it. Clans because the meaning was obvious in their way of living. A group of people united by actual or perceived kinship and descent. And while normally, it relates to close families or extended families, their communities are like families. They were just much larger in scale than what folk law says for clans. In the end, as strange as it sounded, it started with one man, so they would all be decent of that one man. Only over the years blood has changed family linage for many and that is why they find people in their own communities that are made for them but not related at all due to the way the blood linage was looked upon. That had been the confusing thing the first time Sir Victor had told them the history of his family. Winter had even questioned it, as she was decent from all three of King Victor the Seconds children, where as Lachlan was decent from only Prince Tomaz. It still sounded strange, but due to the changes in blood linage, while the line of Prince Tomaz still rules High Moon, it has changed in so many ways that it is different to the linage of Winter. That is what they were told, yet for Shay-Lee she still felt like it was the same thing. She knew that Prince Tomaz’s daughter and her human husband had left First Moon clan and started High Moon Clan, starting the direct line for their own family. Yet, in the beginning, the daughter was of Prince Tomaz’s blood line. Lachlan’s background was still technically from the daughter of the Prince. Winters background came from parts of each of King Victor the Seconds three children. The witch, Princess Floraline and the wolf, Prince Tomaz's line came through her mother's own bloodline, and from King Victor the Third, the immortal vampire, through her own fathers line. Thus, Shay-Lee saw it that as Winter was from the line of all three Royals, and Lachlan was from one line of the Royals, they still had a family connection. So it was still strange to her, to understand how it all worked and how Sir Victor said there might be a link, however, through the High bloodline and Earth bloodline and the changes, the link no longer relates them in such ways. That aside, in their culture, because of how they became wolves, they generally did not worship the Moon Goddess as other cultures did. They knew of her, but they did not seem to be like werewolves and follow their traditions. Werewolves seemed to be able to communicate with their wolf part, like it was a split personality. Their wolf had names and had different feelings and wants and when they shifted, they return without clothing. They even called their communities Packs. Like a pack of wolves. In their culture, Clans were Vampires only and Covens were for witches. In the culture Shay-Lee and everyone else lived, here and now, for those decent from Prince Tomaz, they saw themselves as shifters. Their shifting ability was to change into wolves, yes, but it was as a whole. Their wolves did not have a different mind and separated wants and ideas. They did not directly speak to their wolves, as if it was another person in their head. They could mind link their communities due to this shifting ability, but it was still very different. To the point that, as well, when they shifted and returned, they did not seem to ruin their clothing. They shifted as a whole and came back as they were before shifting. There were also different rules between the two cultures regarding witches and vampires. While yes, Vampires were still pretty dangerous, more so for their blood lust, one could still live amongst them if they had control. Sir Victor was a perfect example of a Vampire in control. Vampires in their culture could walk in daylight and if lucky, can reproduce, as seen again as an example of Sir Victor's relationship with Alinda Earth. Witches well, they did not have much differences then other cultures, so Shay-Lee assumed they were pretty much the same, they use spells and items to do things, drawing energy from something to sustain themselves. In their culture, while most stuck to Clans of their own types, wolves, witches, vampires, there were times when you would find some in a different Clan. Like Jake. He was an Earth, a witch, but he also had wolf blood because of his family linage and because his true mate was Zakari, they stayed in High Moon together. That was the other thing Shay-Lee knew was different and related back to the Moon Goddess that other cultures worshipped. While under the following of Selene, they believed she gave them all what they call ‘mates’. Technically, it was the same as a true half, but it was not just about the human side, it was their wolf side as well. They both have to accept the one that was made for them under their following. For Shay-Lee’s culture, not everyone gets what is called a ‘mate’. They see it as a true half. Because out there, there will be the one special person for you, but you may not always meet them. Like humans. Sometimes it took three times before a wolf shifter will find their true half, sometimes they could be old and grey before they find their true half. That was why they had rules in place, allowing them to have freedom to choose who they want to be with, but if a true mate is found it is respected for how they want to proceed. It is a good thing when you find the true half right away, and many hoped for it, but they all knew life went on without one. Shay-Lee herself, did not have her true half yet, but she was not frantic about searching for them. Some did, but she knew in time she would find the right one for her. This, shaking her head and thinking of all the differences between their beings, their culture, to the other cultures and their followings, Shay-Lee had to wonder why these visitors were now here with an orb that transformed itself into this Moon Goddess.
