Due to her healing abilities, it was not long before Winter was fully healed and moving about. Lachlan stayed with her at the hospital for the night, taking care of her and the babies. It was perfect and it gave the two a good chance to talk. Winter was sad during one point of their conversation, where she admitted to Lachlan, that initially she had expected herself to die and was only holding on for the life growing within her, because she was scared to leave him with nothing. He was very upset hearing the news, hearing her fear of knowing she was going to die and never get to be with him again. He held Winter for so long, holding her tight, sensing her pain and fear. While she was happy she woke up, he could tell that she still was sad about it all.
It was time to leave the hospital the day after Winter woke up. While a normal human, even a wolf, who just gave birth and had large incision across their abdomen would take days to heal and be up to moving about, Winter was proving how different she was. She had no issues and when Koby told her he wished she would stay for another few nights, she pretty much did cartwheels down the hallway to prove she was perfectly and physically fine. Her actions made Lachlan laugh, as it did Corrie, who giggled behind her hand and told Koby to let it be.
So, making her go back to the room to rest after her stunt and stay with the babies, Lachlan explained he would go and get some things sorted. The fact was, he did not want to go back to the pent house and they would not go back to the mountain house. There was another property that he owned that was suitable, out of the many he did actually own. It was a house he hoped that Winter would love just as he did, looking up at it the moment he pulled up the drive way. There were two other cars sitting waiting and as he walked up the cobble style driveway and path, up the white painted wooden steps to the decking that fronted the three story house.
It was a larger home and sat on a two acre block of land, fully protected from their pack and magic. It had been the family home he once grew up in and the whole family had agreed he should take it now, to allow his family to grow up in as well. The house itself had a basement, like a second living area for emergencies and hidden so that it can not be found easy. The ground level homed a sitting room, office and three car garage. Along with a large open living family area, with an industrial kitchen, large formal dinning area and a smaller informal dining room, a large sitting and recreation area. There was also a large home gym and an indoor-outdoor swimming pool and a large outdoor entertainment kitchen, bar and fire pit. On the middle level there was a second study, a large library and five bedrooms. On the top floor, there were three more bedrooms. Of course the house had the right amount of bathrooms for everyone.
With plenty of outdoor land, there was lots of space for running around, for young wolves to learn their hyped skills and more. It was exactly what he and his siblings and other family members did. While his family mainly lived there, so had Adam’s family, which allowed them to form such a close relationship like they all had. It was a real family home and that was what he wanted for his family.
Yes, the news that Winter was carrying a baby after Koby got the bullet out had shocked him, and he was so nervous for a long time after it, but within the six months of waiting for Winter to wake up, the idea sunk in and he got used to the idea, got excited and so he put plans in place to get the house waiting. At that time expecting Winter to come home to. Hearing the news that she had in fact expected herself to die once the child was born… the children as they found out, it made him scared for how deadly their situation had been, how deeply they had fallen into darkness. He was just glad right now, that light was now back upon them, Winter was ok, had pulled through, surprising even herself over that.
As Lachlan made his way up the stairs and through the front doors, keying in his finger print to gain access, he could smell the aroma of the food being prepared. He knew his mother was taking charge of the plans, but he wanted to give her a heads up that things would be happening sooner. He went straight to the open living area. Zachari and Jake were also there in the kitchen helping his mother, while Shay-Lee was moving around the formal dinning space and setting the table. They did not want to go overboard, but they still wanted to do something nice for Winter for when she would arrive home, to properly accept her into the family home, a part of them. While the moment he realised she was his other half, she pretty much became a part of them, they never really had a family gathering to really welcome her as one. There had been too much going on, with the threats of the Bloods and then the Eval-Blacks. Now, with the threats gone, it was a good time and after the family side of it, he hoped that Winter would accept to do a Luna ceremony for the whole clan.
“Hunny, is she home already?” Georgia, his mother, asked turning looking surprised.
“Not yet, but she is determined to come out today, as I wanted to let you all know, it’ll be a couple of hours.” Lachlan explained.
“I figured as much, so we will be ready within the hour and the rest of the guests will be here within the next two.” Shay-Lee called from the dinning table.
“You guys are amazing.” Lachlan said with a smile.
“Anything for our baby sister.” Zakari replied with a big grin. “We have missed her too much.”
“Plus! I want baby cuddles!” Jake said joyfully.
Lachlan nodded, understanding how much they wanted to meet Alinda and Nathanael. While it had been one day since they were born, not many of the family had a chance to meet them. Mainly just Corrie and Koby as nurse and doctor. They had been taking care of them in the nursery until Winter had woken up and then bought them straight to the room. The only time any got to see the new babies were during the process of the birth, and when Koby went past them taking the babies into the room for Winter to meet them. So for them now, to have a chance to meet the babies was also something very exciting for them to look forward to.
Exchanging a couple of quick comments, Lachlan made his way up the stairs in the entry and wet up to the top level, walking down the hall to one of the doors. He entered and looked around a smile crossing his lips. It was perfect and ready. He could not wait to bring Winter up to the room and show her. He just hoped that she would love it. With a nod and knowing that everything would be ready within two hours, he was confidant he could go back to the hospital and wait there, have Koby stall enough for that length of time and then bring Winter and the babies home.
There was a knock on the door and looking around Lachlan saw Shay-Lee standing there, leaning against the door frame now and looking around, a small smile on her lips. He knew she had something to say, yet he was not sure if he wanted to hear things now or wait until later, not sure what it was going to be about. He knew though, it was not going to be long before she would say what she needed to.
“I have some news.” Shay-Lee spoke up. “I am not sure if it is a result of Winter finally waking up, or just it is random, but there has been some requests for a visit within the week.”
“Which Clan?” Lachlan asked curious.
“Well… it is not quite a Clan to my understanding.” Shay-Lee said with a frown.
“Who is it?” he questioned.
“They called themselves the Mystikí Selíni.” Shay-Lee said with thought.
“Hmmm… as in Mystic Moon.” Lachlan replied thinking, knowing the Greek language.
“Seems so.” Shay-Lee said with a nod. “Yet, I have not ever heard of them before.”
“And have they explained why they wish to visit?” he questioned further.
“They would not inform me, said it is for the Alpha only to know.” She replied.
“Hmmm… ok.” Lachlan thought with a nod. “Tell them the meeting will be accepted, as long as they understand we will have guards.”
“I will converse back and get a team sorted.” Shay-Lee said with a nod.
“Thank you.” Lachlan said with a nod.
“Any word when Adam will return?” she then asked.
“I heard from him last night, he and Tilly are on the way home now.” Lachlan informed her.
“Good. While I appreciate you allowed me to step up while he was on leave, it would be good for him to be back in his position.” Shay-Lee smiled lightly.
“You are doing amazing.” He told her back.
“Suck up.” Shay-Lee joked.
They shared a short laugh and then both walked out of the room, making their way back down to the main living area. The table was set and the food was starting to be put into dishes that will either keep them warm or cool depending on what the food item was. It was all looking and smelling amazing and he could not wait until Winter walked in and see what they were doing for her home coming.
