Episode1
Chapter 1 — The Betrayal Seraphina Rose had always believed that love was supposed to feel like home. That was why she had spent three years loving Damian Blake without questioning him. She had trusted his promises, defended him when people warned her, and built her future around the plans they had made together. Tonight, she was supposed to become his wife. Instead, she was about to discover that she had never truly known him. Seraphina stood in front of the mirror in her bedroom, smoothing the soft fabric of her wedding dress. Her hands trembled. “Seraphina?” her best friend Elena called from behind the door. “Are you ready?” “Almost.” She forced a smile at her reflection. The dress was beautiful. Her hair had been carefully styled, and her mother had spent hours helping her prepare. Everything was perfect. At least, that was what she thought. Her phone suddenly vibrated. She glanced at it. A message had arrived from an unknown number. You deserve to know the truth before you marry Damian. Seraphina frowned. Another message appeared. Go to the hotel. Room 807. Don't tell him you're coming. Her heart began beating faster. She stared at the screen. “This has to be a joke,” she whispered. She almost deleted the message. But something inside her told her not to. After making an excuse to Elena, Seraphina quietly left the house. Twenty minutes later, she stood outside the hotel room. Room 807. Her hand hovered over the door. She knocked. No answer. She tried the handle. It opened. “Damian?” Her voice echoed through the room. Then she heard laughter from the bedroom. A woman's laughter. Seraphina froze. She slowly walked toward the sound. The bedroom door was slightly open. She pushed it wider. And everything inside her shattered. Damian was there. With another woman. The woman turned toward her. Seraphina recognized her immediately. Vivienne Carter. The daughter of one of Damian's business partners. Damian's face went pale. “Seraphina…” She couldn't speak. Her eyes filled with tears. “You're getting married tomorrow,” she whispered. Damian stood up. “It's not what you think.” Seraphina laughed bitterly. “Then what exactly am I supposed to think?” Vivienne crossed her arms. “This wasn't supposed to happen like this.” Seraphina looked at her. “Wasn't supposed to happen?” She turned back to Damian. “How long?” He said nothing. “How long, Damian?” “Six months.” The words hit harder than a slap. Six months. For six months, he had been telling her he loved her. For six months, he had been planning a wedding while secretly seeing someone else. Seraphina slowly removed the engagement ring from her finger. She placed it on the table. “You should have told me.” Damian stepped toward her. “Seraphina, I still care about you.” She stared at him. “No. You don't.” She walked away. Outside the hotel, the rain had begun falling. She stood beneath the entrance, tears mixing with the rain on her face. Her wedding was tomorrow. But there would be no wedding. Her phone rang. It was her mother. Seraphina couldn't answer. Then another call came. This time, it unknown number. She almost ignored it. But she answered. “Hello?” A deep male voice replied. “Seraphina Rose?” “Yes. Who is this?” “My name is Alexander Kingsley.” She frowned. The name was familiar. Everyone knew Alexander Kingsley. One of the youngest and most powerful businessmen in the country. “What do you want?” “I heard your wedding has been cancelled.” Seraphina's eyes narrowed. “How do you know that?” There was a brief silence. Then Alexander said quietly, “Because I have a proposal for you.” Seraphina stared into the rain. She had no idea that one phone call was about to change her entire life.
