Chapter - 20

The day of the ball had arrived. I got up, changed, and went straight outside. I got picked up and drove straight to the company. After I finished doing the paperwork, we got back in the car and drove to the designers' place. When we arrived at the house, from the corner of my eye, I saw a bit of the dress. They were still stitching the dress and as I was about to enter the bathroom to shower. When a few hairdressers and make-up stylists came in, I got into the shower and made sure to scrub every inch of my body and added some lotion. I got out of the shower with nothing more than a towel. I was quickly seated and I heard the blow dryer turn on. After an hour, they were finally done with my hair. They turned me towards them and they started putting on my make-up. After it was done, they brought out the dress and I was amazed by my own design. I drew it and they made it even more amazing. It was a beautiful black and white tight dress that went all the way down, with long sleeves and custom gloves. The outer layer of the dress was black with fishnet holes and a bit with designs. If it was just that, then all of my body would be exposed, but the inner layer is white down to my thigh and it covers my body up. They took out the new heels and I put them on. I put on the long silver earrings and necklaces and then put on the black mask that covers my eyes. As I did, Jenny walked through the door, wearing one of our new dresses from the store. She helped me go downstairs and we got into a car. The driver stepped on the gas pedal and we drove off. We arrived at the mansion and I looked at the time. We were half an hour late. I walked through the doors with Jenny holding my hand and leading me inside. We walked inside and saw a ton of people. Waiters passed by handing out drinks. I quickly grabbed one and went towards some old friends. I stood in front of them and they looked at me. "It's good to see you. I'm glad you are healthy, Miss." Mr. Smith said. "Indeed. I'm glad you are still in good condition. Even after 'that'", Mr. Gremmlin said, furrowing his eyebrows. "Now, now. Let's not talk about something that irritates us all, especially Miss." Mrs. Holly said as she quickly grabbed a glass of champagne. "A toast to Miss for still keeping us as her business partners and our savior.". All of us took a sip and smiled. "Now let's get down to business," I said as I saw their surprised faces. I smirked and continued. "Have you seen that i***t?" "Not yet, Miss. We have been looking around once in a while, but we haven't seen him yet. I think he hasn't arrived yet." Mrs. Holly replied with a worried expression. "Very well. If you see him, inform me as quickly as possible. But make sure it's not obvious." I said, as I finished the glass, and gave it to Mr.Smith. I then walked back to Jenny and stood beside her. As I was talking to Jenny I noticed a lot of people looking at me. I then saw a woman in her early twenties walking toward me. "Good evening, I'm the daughter of the Livana family. Lina Livana." She said as she extended her hand. Jen was quick on her feet and shook her hand. She then looked at me and nodded. "Good evening to you too. Miss doesn't shake hands, but she is pleased to meet you. She had heard a lot about the Livana family." She said as she let go of her hand. "Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Kayleigh Nirvana, Miss's personal assistant, secretary, and the previous CEO's assistant. This is the new CEO of the Diamond company. Miss Diamond." "Oh my! It's a pleasure to meet you. I heard that the new CEO took the last name in the previous CEO's honor. And you truly live up to the Diamond company. Always providing new and amazing dresses. I bought this dress, especially for this ball." She said with a wide bright smile as she did a little spin. "And this must be the specially designed dress. It's truly amazing." She kept talking and Jenny kept replying. I noticed a guy and an older man walking toward us. "Lina, there you are. Ah, Good evening. Miss..?" The older man said as he extended his hand towards me. Jenny once again shook his hand and smiled at him. "Miss Diamond", she replied softly. "Ah, Miss Diamond. I'm glad to see you in person. My whole family bought suits and dresses from your stores. They are amazing." This must be the head of the Livana Family. Jonathan Livana and the guy next to him must be his son. Jimin Livana and also the next head. We were talking when Mr. Smith walked toward us. "Ah, it's pretty lively here. Mind if I join you?" He said with a smile. "Ah, of course! I heard Mr. Smith had made a huge profit this month." Mr. Livana said, smiling back at him. "It's all thanks to Miss Diamonds' help. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have made such a profit." He said, raising a glass of champagne toward me. Jenny quickly passed a glass of champagne to me and I raised it to him. "Of course, she profited from it the most. Ah, before I forget Miss Diamond. Make sure you don't catch a cold. With that stunning dress." He said as he looked back at Mr. Livana. That means he's here. I returned the glass to Jenny and went outside. When I got outside, I walked straight to the gazebo and stood there. Looking towards the lake. He's here. He's actually f*****g here! And here I thought that he wouldn't show up. I was shaking with anger when I felt someone put their jacket on me. I turned around and was met with deep gray eyes. "Don't catch a cold." He said as he stood beside me and took out a cigarette and lit it. Who the hell is he?
