(Eden's POV)
The first thing I noticed when I woke up was the suffocating weight of his presence.
Alexander sat by the window, bathed in the pale morning light. His intense grey eyes bore into me, his expression strained but unreadable. His broad shoulders were stiff, his hands clasped together like he was trying to hold himself still.
I swallowed hard, my mind sluggish and heavy. Then, like an avalanche, the memories of last night smashed into me. The fountain. His rage. My powerless fury.
