From her peripheral, Kennedy saw another car she came in to drive with at the parking lot. It was a beautiful car. A classic Aston Martin DB11. No matter, she had her BMW i8 Roadster that she adored.
Too bad for her, the driver of the Aston Martin saw a vacant spot before she did. Hoping there's another empty space, she decided to follow after it. Luckily, she did find a spot not far from the Aston Martin. She went to drive to the spot when suddenly, she felt that something collided with her car. She looked at the rear view mirror and shock was written all over her face, gaping with her mouth open. Without warning, the Aston Martin backed up as she was passing by which resulted to the hit inflicted on her car.
Kennedy immediately got out and went to look at the damages. Earlier, her car was flawless. Now, the end of her car on the right side was damaged with scratches, dents, and medium-sized hollow area. She then scoffed at it irritatingly and waited for the person, who bumped her car, step out of the vehicle. Suffice to say, she was mad. This car is her baby. No one messes with it. She has it cleaned and checked almost every week. She wasn't about let some punk get away with this.
Soon enough, the owner of the Aston Martin stepped out in all his glory. Kennedy wasn't surprised that it was a man but, what surprised her was how he looked. Even she couldn't deny that the man was good looking but, she wasn't going to say that out loud. She could tell that the man has arrogant and self-absorbed tendencies just by what he did the moment he saw her. He was checking her out. She bet he wouldn't even admit that he was checking her out.
Had it been under different circumstances, she would have had the pleasure of meeting him by accident. However, despite his good looks, his muscular structure, his wavy chestnut brown brushed up hair, the sunglasses that suited him well, and everything else, Kennedy still had to stand up to the arrogant jerk who messed up her car.
"Are you done checking me out?" she blurted out in annoyance.
Her question seemed to have taken the man out of his thoughts and looked like he was slightly taken aback. Just then, he just chuckled at her. That irritated Kennedy even more.
"Simmer down, little girl. I wasn't checking you out."
Called it! Of course he would say that. she thought.
"I'm 24 years old. I'm not a little girl." she crossed her arms. For some reason, she gets defensive when people call her a "little girl" whether it was her friends, her family, and especially her brothers, who loved teasing her about it.
"Are you going to do anything about this?" she asked, pointing at the damages, clear as day.
The man looked at it for a moment. He took his sunglasses off and to be honest, it took a bit from Kennedy not to admire his whole face now that she can see his eyes but, that didn't matter right now.
"Alright, I realize that this is a big deal to you but, I'm hungry and I have to be somewhere after that so, why don't I just give you some money to pay for the damages and we can both be on our way."
She found herself blinking and then gaping.
"Are you seriously trying to pay me off? That's not the point. I can pay for the damages with my own money just fine." she retorted.
"Oh. Then I guess we have no problem, right?"
Ugh. The nerve! she thought. Then she notices that he was about to walk away.
"Where do you think you're going?!" the man stopped and turned back to her.
"What?! You said you can fix it. So what's the problem?" he exclaimed.
"The problem is that you weren't looking where you're supposed to be driving! What if that was more serious? What if I got hurt? You're seriously just gonna give me some money and be on your way?"
She cannot believe that the man in front of her actually existed.
"Look, lady, none of what you're saying happened. Alright? Now, thanks to you, I won't get to eat lunch. I'm already late!"
"I don't care! The point is you don't understand that you have to be careful! Or maybe… at least show some compassion. You can't just give money to someone and think that that's going to fix all your problems. You didn't even apologize! Or ask me if I was okay!"
He gave her a look of exhaustion.
"Alright, you know what? This," he gestured to the two of them "is over. I have to go so, if you could please move your car, you'll never have to see me again."
He started walking back to his car and waited. As she watched him, she smirked to herself.
You're gonna apologize, mister. she thought.
"I'm not gonna move my car until you say sorry." leaning against her car comfortably.
The man rolled his eyes at her.
"I don't need to say sorry. Do you actually see that my car is not without damage? Do you see that?" pointing at the marks he called "damage".
"Yeah. Only because you're the one who bumped my car! and that "damage" could not even compare to the damages that are on my car! So, technically, it's all your fault and I think I deserve an apology, at least." she claimed.
"Lady, I'm not playing around. Move your car or else I'm going to do more damage than what I've already done to your precious car."
She can see that she's getting to his head.
"Oh is that so? Then you wouldn't mind if I go to that guard over there and tell him what happened?" glancing at the guard patrolling nearby.
"And say what? "oh please officer save me from the man who tried giving me some money because I'm such a little girl"" he mocked.
Okay, now he's getting on MY nerves. she thought as her jaw clenched but, she pulls herself together.
"It's your word against mine." she shrugged.
She watched him, looking like he's thinking about what to do. She even chuckled to herself when he started tapping his foot rapidly. Then… he looked at her.
"Fine. I'm sorry… happy?"
She smirked victoriously at him, turned her back on him and walked to the driver's seat. She looked over her shoulder to find him glaring at her.
"That's better." she simply said before getting in and driving off.
"You didn't even say 'thank you'!"
She smiled at what he said, glanced at him through her rear view mirror, shaking his head at her.
By impulse, she slid her window down, stuck her arm out and waved goodbye at him.
That was fun. she thought playfully.
