Dugo In Madness

1511 Words
Silence... For a few moments there, silence filled the crowd and the entire area. It appeared that what they just heard was too unbelievable that they couldn't process it in their minds. What did he just say again? The reason he was trying to protect that man was that he swindled... no, he told him that he was... Handsome? The hell was that? Is he out of his mind? Was he that too desperate to be called handsome that he was willing to risk his life for someone who told him that? And could he look into a mirror? Wasn't that man just... Swindling him? This was really... No matter how hard they think about it, in the end they fell speechless, especially the villagers. On the other hand, the man who had been attacked by Dugo was also silent. His face was filled with a dark expression. This brat... This brat actually dared to put a small cut on his face because of a petty reason? How dare he! Although it didn't hurt him that much, it was still annoying. He should definitely teach that brat a lesson! “You're tired of living!” The man with two big teeth finally lost it. Since those ants would rather choose the hard way, he should give them what they asked. They shouldn't have shown these annoying ants their “mercy” as they should have directly conquered their puny village instead. What a waste of time. Those little ants surely knew how to get on his nerves. With that in mind, the man with two big teeth finally swung his mace vertically downward. But this time, instead of the man who insulted him before, his target of attack was the brat who had just attacked him. He would definitely kill this brat! Swoosh! Clang! A sharp metal sound hitting each other echoed across the area. It appeared like the attack made only for Dugo was blocked. But to everyone's shock, it wasn't Dugo who blocked it. But it was an old man who appeared like he would break down at any moment. In his hands was a metal rod. He held it with his two hands on both ends, blocking the incoming mace successfully. Though, of course, the old man who blocked the mace with all he got suffered a backslash, causing him to spurt a mouthful of blood the next moment. “V-village Chief?” Dugo, who had seen the occurrence the closest, had his expression gone completely pale. His voice trembled, his body couldn't help shaking. He could only ask with a stuttered voice, “W-why?” After all, he had already prepared himself for the aftermath of his action. Even if it cost him his life, he was willing to pay the price. And he had no regrets. After all, he thought that it was better to die than live a dog's life. But now, the Village Chief actually tried to save him? Just what was he supposed to do now? Was he even worth saving? “Hm...?” Meanwhile, the man who was responsible for insulting the Buwaya Tribe had his interest somewhat piqued. A trace of a slight smile suddenly appeared on his lips, his thoughts unknown. Though, of course, no one else noticed that smile. “Please, spare this child. We will gladly surrender to you and become your dogs for the rest of our lives,” Shortly after, a weak and trembling voice sounded suddenly. It was not a surprise that the one who had just spoken was the Village Chief. But contrary to his expectations, the member of the Buwaya Tribe in front of him had a disdained and disgusted look clearly on his face. He glared at the Village Chief coldly as he raised his mace over his shoulder. It was obvious that he was about to attack again, unwilling to even talk it out. “Too late. You bastards have already pissed me off,” With those as his last words, the man with two big teeth swung his mace again with a right horizontal s***h. The Village Chief, with his weakened body, failed to react quickly as he had been hit mercilessly on his left. It went without saying, he was sent rolling to the ground shortly after, leaving him half-dead in the process. Dugo, and all the other villagers, found their eyes widened in shock and horror upon witnessing their Village Chief being knocked out by one hit. They failed to move an inch, their bodies shuddered uncontrollably. How could something like this happen to them? They wanted to avenge their Village Chief, but what else could they do with their cowardly weak selves? They knew full well that courage had long left their hearts as they could only watch in terror, wishing not to be implicated in such a mess. Every single one of them failed to be of help nor did they intend to. That was except for a single person. “YOU BASTARD!!! HOW DARE YOU ATTACK OUR VILLAGE CHIEF!” Though fear still flooded his heart, Dugo managed to voice out what was inside. Tears fell down from the corner of his eyes as he rushed to stab the other party with his knife. Whoosh! With all his might, Dugo tried to unleash his attack, knowing full well that it would be pointless against the other party. Everything he was doing was based on madness, incapable of thinking of his own well-being. Heck, even if he died after this, he would at least take that bastard down with him. How dare he attack the Village Chief? But amidst Dugo's desperate attack, it was as though time had suddenly stopped completely as he felt something tapping his shoulder from behind. He also felt a strange and warm energy gushing through him right after that something tapped his shoulder. And then he heard a warm and gentle voice, yet at the same time, chilling and murderous. “Sigh, these pests really thought that they are the villain here.” There was a moment of pause before the voice continued, “Dugo, was it? The handsome young man I met before. I like your guts, so I'll let you beat the s**t out of these little shits.” “Rejoice, since you are one of the very few who will have the fortune to experience my power.” Those words echoed loudly in Dugo's ears within a split second. And to his surprise, in the next moment, he felt a sudden burst of strength coming from within. He didn't know why, but at that moment, he felt like he was invincible. Like no one on earth could stand up against him. Having that strange feeling, Dugo didn't let go of the opportunity as he fiercely glared at the man in front of him. But now that he looked at the other party, why could he see a lot of openings where he could attack him? He even felt like this guy was so fragile, like glass, that he could break him into countless pieces with just the snap of his finger. “Whatever, I'll just stab him to death!” Dugo thought as he clenched his teeth and tightened his grip on his knife. With the thought of killing the other party, Dugo's eyes suddenly emitted a faint but cold glint. His movements had surprisingly become fluid and sharp, rendering the other party shocked and incapable of reacting on time. Since the man with big teeth underestimated the brat before him, thinking that his puny retaliation wouldn't cause him any harm, he really didn't expect this brat to make a sudden move. Unfortunately, it was already too late for him. He failed to defend himself as SWOOSH! The other party's attack finally hit him. He only thought that this attack could only injure him at best, but to his horror, that attack was so terrifying that it even released sharp energy, leaving a huge hole in his upper abdomen. What the h... That brat was only using a knife yet he managed to reduce him to such a state, thus, killing him in the end? What the hell was going on now? “You...” The man with big teeth wanted to say something, but COUGH! He suddenly spurted a mouthful of blood, his sight suddenly went blurry. He raised his hand to reach the big hole in his abdomen only to see his palm dyed red. He was bleeding! He was dying! How could this be... By a mere brat... In the end, the man with big teeth could only shift his glare at the young man who attacked him, cursing him with all his heart. He could only see the other party looking down on him with a nonchalant expression before finally, he fell to the ground forward. His eyes lost their shine but even then, they were still widely opened as though he couldn't accept the fate he had to bear because of his carelessness.
