Chapter 6 Unraveling Mysteries

623 Words
Today is the first day of our preliminary exam week. Days and weeks have passed, and Archer has really been getting on my nerves. He always acts so strange, popping up after class even though he's not in our class. Sometimes, during Computer and IT subjects, he always sits beside me and annoys me so much. "Ellaine, stop daydreaming again," Allen said. "I'm not. By the way, do you have some free time on Thursday? If you guys don't have any plans, let's have a group study at my place," I suggested to them. "Cool, I really need Allen's help for our major subjects. I didn't quite grasp some of the lessons there," Kayla said. "Same here. So, are we going to have a group study?" Rhamil asked while snatching Kayla's bag. "Rhamil, give me my bag back!" Kayla yelled while chasing Rhamil, who was now running from her. "These two," Aly said and shook her head. "Okay, I'll chat in our group chat if I'm free that day, okay?" Allen replied, smiling at her cellphone. "I think someone is in love," I teased as I saw Allen giggling and smiling at her cellphone. "I think so," Aly agreed. "So, am I the only single one here now?" I joked, pouting. "Nah, Ellaine, you're not single because Archer is here to save you from being single," Aly teased. "Nah, he's just an annoying person," I replied, rolling my eyes, which made her laugh. "If you say so, hahaha," Aly said, shaking her shoulder at me. "Hey, love birds, are you done?" I yelled, making them stop. Kayla took that chance to grab her bag from Rhamil and ran towards us, giving me a playful slap on my shoulder. "We're not love birds," she said, but Allen, Aly, and I just laughed. "Yeah, we're not love birds because she's not a bird but a rat," Rhamil teased Kayla, making her yell his name and run after him. "This cat and rat, hahah," Allen commented, making us laugh as we followed them. "Hey, we don't have any classes now. Let's buy some milk tea. I'm craving it," I said, making the two stop their chase. "Your treat?" they both asked eagerly. "Hush, you two," I said, scratching my head as if I had lice (which I don't). "Fine," I agreed, making them jump like little kids. Aly, Allen, and I just shook our heads at their excitement. "By the way, where is Archer? I didn't see him today. Usually, he's always waiting for us outside," Allen asked, sipping her milk tea at Kkopi. "I don't know. ask him," I replied, my eyes on my phone. "Maybe he has some important things to do, right?" I added. "Maybe. So... What's your status with him, Ellaine?" Aly asked. "A friend," I answered. "Wait, why do you guys keep asking me questions about him?" I asked. "Well, we're just curious about you and him, I guess," Kayla answered. "Well, your curiosity is stressing me out. Let's head home. It's already late," I said, cutting off the conversation. "Late? It's just 3:46 pm, Ellaine," Rhamil teased, earning a death glare from me. "Yeah, yeah, whatever," I said, rolling my eyes. "I bet he has a huge crush on you," Aly said. "But he's kinda weird," she added. "We think he's really into you, but something is weird on him that we haven't figured it out yet," Kayla said. "Stop being so curious, guys. Let's just go with the flow, okay?" Rhamil said in a nonchalant way. "Whatever, guys. Let's just head home. We have to study for the upcoming exam," I said, prompting them to agree. We said our goodbyes and went our separate ways, heading home to study.
