The Lycan's Prey

Chloe's POV 17 YEARS AGO I was asleep when dad ran into my room to wake me. I had been perceiving smoke but I didn't do anything about it cause I thought I was dreaming. "wake up Chloe" Dad said and I woke up immediately, looking into his eyes, I noticed he was scared and the sweat that ran down his forehead added to my suspicion. "Dad? What's wrong?" I asked as I used the back of my palm to wipe my eyes "Come here" he said and he carried me on his shoulders and began to run out of my room. "Dad, what's going on?" I asked again but he didn't respond, he just ran out of the house. Fear gripped me as I stared at the sight before me, the house was on fire and dead bodies were scattered everywhere, and I was able to make out their faces, my mum, aunt and grandparents were all laying dead on the hard concrete. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I began to sob. My entire family is dead. "Dad what's happening?" I said in a light tone, more of a whisper. My throat dried out so I couldn't speak up. Dad ran for a long time and afterwards he brought me to the forest and kept me behind a large tree. "Dad what's going on?" I asked as tears rolled down my cheeks my voice was getting clearer "Chloe, they're here" He said "Who?" I asked with all curiosity. "Chloe there's something your mother and I have been keeping from you,. we didn't want to tell you until you're of age, but...." he fell silent "Dad what's wrong" I screamed I'm his face "Chloe, You're a...." he said and his eyes widened. I saw life leave his eyes and his jaw dropped "Dad? Dad what's wrong? I asked and he fell to the ground "Dead people can't talk princess" A man said as he came out of the shadows. He stood behind dad but I couldn't see him clearly due to the dark atmosphere, rainy weather and the huge headwear on his head blocking his face. I saw a blood covered knife on his left hand and I immediately realized he stabbed my dad "Dad, dad please wake up." I screamed as I shook dad to wake him, even though I knew it was impossible. I saw blood roll out of my father's mouth and I cried even louder. "Dad please" I screamed and cried louder. "There's no use princess, he's gone." the hidden man spoke again and when I looked up I saw him clearly. He was gorgeous yet old, but not too old. He looked exhausted and tired. "come here princess" he said as he stretched his hand to me but I didn't reply, instead I slapped his arm away my face and oddly, he liked it. I could tell by the large grin plastered on his face. "Get her" he said in a mellow voice and just then I saw a pack of rogue wolves slowly walking up to me. Fear gripped me and Instinctively I began to run. I ran as far as my tiny legs could carry me, I saw a narrow bushy road and I ran towards it and .... "Ouch" I winced as I fell 'belly first' on the hard soil "Get her, NOW" The really handsome yet old man yelled at a pack of men. Hearing them nearing closer, I crawled into a near bush, and used my palm to close my mouth. "Where the f**k is she?" One of the Wolf who transformed back into a naked man yelled. "we don't know boss she ran to this direction" Another now transformed naked man replied him. "f**k!!! Boss is going to kill us" The first man said "The rest of you wolves, sniff her out" he continued and the wolves did exactly what he said. I was so scared and tensed, I knew it was over for me. What could they possibly want from me? I'm just 8. Did they have intentions of k********g me? Many questions filled my head space, but the one thing that I kept thinking about repeatedly is how to get out of this situation. I looked around to find an escape route but they was non in sight. I tried my best to move from the spot because I noticed the wolves were getting closer to me. I tried my best not to make any form of noise, but the moon goddess wasn't on my side . The moment I turned around to crawl to another spot, my knee broke a stick in two. "Did you hear that" the second man asked and just then...... "Ahhhh" my scream was heard in all parts of the forest. One of the wolves found me and dragged me out with his teeth placed firmly on my elbow. I was bleeding, he bit me. "What the f**k did you do?" The old yet handsome man said as he ran towards us. They kept arguing but I couldn't make out anything the were saying. Everything became blurry, and I lost consciousness. Back to present CHLOE'S POV I woke up to the feel of a cold, liquid substance on my body. "wake up lazy b***h" the head chef said and I saw a bucket on her hand that was now dripping water and the realization hit me. She poured a bucket of water on me. I was drenched. "Princess Natalie needs you" she said as she walked away. I waked into the maids chamber to find something dry to wear when... "Hey girl" Matilda, my best friend and maid said "Hi" I said with a fake smile "What's this? did the princess do this to you?" she asked as she pointed at my soaked clothes "Nah, it was Edith" I said as I began to change to dryer clothes in front of her "What a piece of s**t, she thinks being mean to you will get her in princess Natalie's good books." she said
