“No,” came out of my mouth so quickly that even I was surprised.
The woman chuckled. “Such certainty before you understand anything.” She looked over her shoulder at Alex. “I can see why you find them amusing. On occasion, that is.”
My eyes flitted to Alex. “What the hell is going on here?”
The woman stepped in my line of sight. “If you would be so kind as to allow us entrance we would be glad to explain our mission here.”
