“You really think he would’ve seen anything in here you didn’t want him to see?” Caius wondered as we approached the mouth of the cave.
I shrugged. “I don’t know, so that’s why it’s probably a good idea that he stays back. After all, he’s not the only one with secrets to-” I jerked to a stop, my eyes glued to the cave.
Caius tensed by my side. “What is it?” I shot forward across the sand. “Jane!” my dragon shifter shouted behind me, but I didn’t heed his call.
I’d catch him this time. I swore it.
I raced up to the mouth of the cave and paused at the threshold of light and dark. My heart beat furiously in my chest as Caius hurried up to my side.
“What the avyss was that for?” he questioned me.
“I swore I saw that Man In Black again,” I told him as I scanned the cave.
