Chapter 6It had been a week since Diane’s return to Brittany. The very evening of her arrival, they spoke at length on the phone, and then again on the days that followed. Dio did not know what sort of future their relationship might have, but he wanted it to last as long as possible, despite the difficulties posed by the distance, their culture and, above all, Diane’s future plans in Guadeloupe. Dio did not want to reflect too much about all that, he just wanted to enjoy the moments of happiness he had experienced and to enjoy more of the same as soon as possible.
For the moment, he was in the high-speed TGV train that was taking him up to Paris to organise "coke flight", the code name he had given to the operation he had set in motion over the last few weeks. He thought again of Diane,
