Chapter 7Dio accompanied Diane back to the Gare Montparnasse. They had spent a weekend together which they would each long remember with delight. They had made love much of the time and wandered hand in hand through the sunny Paris streets. The whole time, spring had made its sheep’s eyes at them, which only lovers can see. But time took its course and Diane had to go back to Rennes. They kissed tenderly and passionately on platform one; Diane boarded the train when a ringing signal announced the imminent closure of the doors. Dio gestured for her to call him when she got back, and she blew him a kiss in return.
