Chicago belongs to Luca Romano.

At 34, he’s the king of the city’s underworld. Cold, calculated, and used to breaking anyone who gets in his way. The Romano name means money, blood, and absolute control. Rival families fear him. His own men obey him. No one says no to Luca Romano and lives.

Aria Vance is a mistake that walked into the wrong room.

A 24-year-old con artist and hacker, Aria makes her living scamming high-rollers and vanishing before they realize they’ve been played. In Miami, she cons the wrong mark. Luca’s brother. When Luca’s men drag her in, there’s no negotiation. No cops. No escape.

He doesn’t ask. He takes.

Aria’s debt is simple: her life for her crime. And Luca collects in the only currency he cares about. Her body, her time, her obedience. She becomes his secret in the penthouse above Chicago. Chained to his bed with promises and threats. Kept like something dangerous he refuses to let go of.

Every night is a war of control.

He pushes. She breaks.

He puts her back together only to shatter her again.

Luca marks her, claims her, punishes her, and protects her with a violence that borders on worship. He kisses her like it’s punishment for wanting her back. He says she’s his, and in his world, that’s law.

But the streets are bleeding.

Rival Don Enzo Moretti wants Luca dead and Chicago burned. The Bratva are circling. Undercovers are closing in. And inside Luca’s own crew, betrayal festers. His cousin Marco wants the throne. His sister Sofia wants Aria gone. Hitman Dante “Ghost” Moretti is hired to kill them both.

The only thing keeping Aria alive is that Luca won’t let anyone else touch what’s his.

As the war escalates, Aria’s past catches up with her. Bratva ghosts, old debts, and secrets that make her more valuable alive than dead. Forced to use her skills for Luca, she moves from captive to operative to something more dangerous: his partner.

She tells herself she hates him.

She tells herself she’ll escape.

But when he bleeds for her, kills for her, and finally admits _I need you_, the line between hatred and obsession blurs.

Luca Offer
*Chapter 1: Luca’s Offer* The SUV ate up the highway out of Miami in silence. Aria sat in the back, hands cuffed in front of her now, shoulder aching where Luca’s man had wrenched her into the car. Her lip was still split. She could taste copper. She kept her eyes on Luca. He sat across from her like the car belonged to him. Which it did. His suit was still perfect. Not a wrinkle. Not a drop of sweat. The kind of calm that only came from men who were used to people dying around them. “Your brother’s an i***t,” Aria said. She had to say something. Silence made her feel smaller. Luca didn’t look at her. “He’s my brother.” “So you’re gonna kill me for scamming him?” Luca finally turned. Those gray eyes hit her like cold water. “No.” Aria frowned. “No?” “No,” Luca repeated. “Killing you would be a waste.” The SUV slowed. Chicago’s skyline bled into view through the tinted glass, dark and jagged against the night. Luca leaned forward, elbows on his knees. “You owe me sixty thousand. You owe me for the disrespect. You owe me for thinking you could touch what’s mine and walk away.” “I didn’t know he was yours,” Aria said fast. “You should have.” The car stopped in the underground garage of a tower that scraped the sky. The doors opened. Two men stepped in, one on either side of her. Luca got out first. “Get her up,” he said. They hauled her to her feet. Aria tried to jerk free, but the man on her right twisted her arm up her back until she hissed in pain. They took her to the penthouse. 87th floor. Glass walls, city lights, and nothing between her and a 900-foot drop. Luca lived like a king. Or a god. He walked to the bar, poured two fingers of whiskey, didn’t offer her any. “Sit,” Luca said, nodding to the chair in front of his desk. Aria didn’t move. Luca sighed. He set the glass down. “Marco. Hold her.” Marco, the cousin with the cocky grin and cheap cologne, grabbed her from behind and shoved her down into the chair. Aria’s knee slammed into the wood. Pain flared. Luca came around the desk. He crouched in front of her, close enough that she had to look at him. “You scammed my brother,” he said quietly. “You tried to run. You failed. That means you’re mine now.” Aria spat. The saliva hit Luca’s polished shoe. Marco started to move, but Luca held up a hand. He didn’t wipe it off. He just laughed. Low. Amused. “You’ve got spirit,” Luca said. “Good. I’d be bored if you didn’t.” Aria glared. “I’m not working for you. Kill me or let me go.” Luca stood. He walked behind her chair, his presence a weight on her spine. “You don’t get it yet, Aria,” he said. “Letting you go means someone else kills you. Letting you go means you try again. And next time, you might succeed. I don’t like loose ends.” He leaned down, mouth near her ear. “So here’s the deal. Your debt is your life. You pay it by working for me. You steal for me. You hack for me. You seduce for me. Whatever I say.” Aria’s stomach twisted. “And if I refuse?” Luca’s hand came to rest on the back of her chair. His fingers brushed her neck, light as a threat. “Then I keep you here,” he said. “In my penthouse. Like a dirty secret. I chain you to my bed. I use you how I want. And when I’m done, I let Marco have a turn.” Aria froze. Marco chuckled behind her. Luca stepped back, walked to the bar, and finally drank his whiskey. “You’ll work for me,” Luca said, setting the glass down with a soft click. “Naked or clothed, Aria. Your choice.”
