Chapter Twenty-Two
It came over her with a chill, like cloud-shadow on a warm day. Lee found she was drawn to Angela; an undeniable fascination. Was it the haughty posture Angela assumed, standing naked before the man with the camera? Where had that come from? ...Angela’s come-f**k-me attitude so out of step with the pretty dim-witted girl Lee first met at Margo’s house.
And then the dream.
Was there something working behind the scenes? In the dusky regions of her mind?
After waking from the dream, Lee found that Angela had suddenly made a profound impression on her psyche. And Lee felt a certain urgency in her heart. She knew she should do something else: Go for a run, go to work, clean-house. Anything but stew about her new-found feels for Angela. But in the end, she gave it up.
