It took a minute or two for them to digest that information, but Liz came closer to Samantha and hugged her.
“Thank you,” was all she said.
“You're more than welcome,” said the spiritess. “Don't even mention it.”
Jonah glanced at Terrence. “She's very mysterious.”
“Most spirits are,” shrugged Terrence. “But I already like her ten times more than her damn father.”
Jonah agreed, but didn't voice it. “Okay, Katarina, Samantha,” he said. “What have you got for us?”
Katarina moved to a file cabinet and clutched the handle of the top one. It gleamed purple, and then she pulled it open.
“You had to link up a Gate for files?” asked Douglas.
“Of course,” said Katarina. “Do you think Curaie files would be stored in simple file cabinets? No. They are…elsewhere. That's all you get from me.”
