“Withers,” Tom said as he nodded to Charlie.
“Watkins,” Charlie returned in an equally awkward manner.
Staring at both of them, Tim hoped it didn’t turn into a thing. Looking at his boyfriend, Tim pleaded with his eyes for Tom to just turn around and walk away.
“So, I feel like I look good,” Charlie said to Lacy. Shaking her head, she filled cups of punch for all of them.
Tom’s attention was caught by his friend, Ryan, arriving and Tim gave an eternal sigh as Tom practically ran over to him.
“Well he couldn’t get away fast enough,” Charlie stated in his usual bluntness.
“Don’t be silly,” Tim said. “Come and look at what our hard work has earned you,” he said as he and Lacy led Charlie out to the pool area.
