Chapter 5~ The New Student

The next day was Monday, I still had some money with me thanks to the nice guy living next door who gave me some money after making the phone call last night calling me his saviour. I was already getting ready for school thinking I might have to sneak out of the house again if my daddy refuse to let me go to school today. I was still wearing my school skirt when I heard my father's car horning out of the house, I guess he has some work to do. I jumped up happily and quickly put on my skinny sneakers and then took my bag pack and books downstairs, I quickly had two bite out of my sandwich breakfast and then rushed out of the house immediately off to school but guess who I bumped into Nanny grace while I was rushing off to school and guess what we both eyed each other, She asked me where I was heading off to and I immediately told her to better mind her own business, She hissed and then went inside, but still I didn't let her ruin my day as I was going to be very late to school. But luckily for me I found a bus sooner and it was already 7:54am, Meanwhile class was going to start by 8:00am and Mrs Desmond is not a kind of person who appreciate late coming and I know she is not going to take it easy on me today the first day of the week, she beats everyone on Monday as she knows it has already turned into an habit for me coming late to school. I quickly dropped by at the bus stop as soon I reached my school gate, I started getting anxious as soon as I entered the school gate I was looking so down just like a new student because I know everyone in my class was going to make jest of me, but I still had to force myself that no matter what I face in life I must still go to school, I forcefully carried my legs one by one while walking through the principal’s office with my head bent down to the ground hoping not to be seen by anyone but then I bumped into someone

The new guy: Opps sorry, I apologize

Angel: I am very very sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you that way, I was just overthinking....

The new guy: It's okay, I really understand and it's not really a big deal, I'll pick this up for you

Angel: No, don't worry I'll just pick it up myself, I said as I handed over to him, his books...

The new guy: My name is Martin, he said as he offer his hand to shake me

Angel: Nice to meet you, I said as I picked up my book and left

Nice name though, I mean he was kind of a gentleman and nice too, I have totally Never really seen a black guy acting so cool in (A.A)hills he must still be a new guy and his parents must be very rich I just wonder how rich his parent would be to be able to afford bringing him here to rich man school. I was still thinking and admiring his cuteness not until I reached the front of my classroom stepping two feet inside before I could finally come back to my senses and realize I was in class, I started sweating...

Mr Williams: {still writing} Who can tell me what today's lesson have taught us

Class: {silence} chuckling

Mr Williams: {Turned to look at them} Am I talking to myself?? Wow Miss Angel the owner of white house center you are totally welcome to join my classroom after first period "he said" as he threw the maker at me and went to sit down, Miss angel please you can now continue the lecture "he said" as he crossed her leg on the table

The bullies: Angel, please teach us what we learnt last week, duhhhh

The class: Yes!!! Yes!!! Angel teach us what we learnt yesterday or last week

The back benchers: Angel!!! Angel!!! Angel!!! Angel!!! Angel!!! Angel!!!!!!!

The new guy: Hey y'all should chill and just leave her alone!!! The principal is coming!!!

A minute later the principal entered the classroom

Principal: What is going on?? Why is she standing??

Class: {silent} Staring

Principal: Mr Williams, please tell me what is going on?? Why were they shouting??

Mr Williams: Ma'am Angel came....

Principal: Enough of it already!!! Don't even say anything else I need you in my office when you are done. Angel please go back to your sit now, Alright Pupils we are having a new student today so you guys should compose yourselves...

Mrs Principal went back to her office and within some minutes she came back with the new student...

Principal: Good morning year 2014

Class: Good morning, ma’am

Principal: A new student is joining you guys today and I hope you all behave well with him

Everyone: Yes ma'am

Principal: James, please go and have a sit there beside Angel

James: Yes ma’am

James went to sit down with angel and the class dismissed

James: Hey, you are the girl from last night

Angel: No, I don’t know you

James: I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you

Angel: Yeah, let’s save it for later

At the cafeteria

Angelina: I really can’t believe we’ll be having test next week

Angel: I can’t believe it either, Could you believe the new guy in our class is the same rich kid who lives at the neighborhood??

Angelina: What new guy are you talking about??

Angel: Don’t worry, it’s nothing serious

Angelina: Are you sure you are not going to tell me??

Angel: Can we just talk about that after school, I have a lot more to tell you about...

Angelina: Okay Rainbow, I’ll be waiting

Angelina and I have been best friends since my mum passed away and now we are in different classes but still in the same school...

The bell rings and everyone went to their various classes for the next class but as we were about to stand up from our sit at the cafeteria, we met our three worst enemies

The School Bullies

First one: Hey girl, I hope you not gonna puke or snitch on him

Second one: Who cares if she puke or not I just hope she is not gonna steal him away from me, Right girls??

All of them: Right!!!

Third one: She won’t even be able to steal him away from you because…

Angelina: Right, because what??

First one: Hey, hold on there because she can’t even stand a chance of being his prom queen or even be at the prom dance for the ball, right??

All of them: Right!!!

Angel: Lina, please just let’s go…

Third one: yeah, run from em’rm

Angelina: Listen, y’all should just go kiss your ass because I can see your days are numbered and I guess it about time we report y’all to the school’s authority already she said as we left and went to our various classes…

Angel: {writing} In the classroom

James: Angel??? Angel??? Can I talk to you??

Angel: {drops pen} Don’t you have anything to do?? Why do you think you can just call my name like that and you are expected to be answered?

James: I am very sorry to bother you that way, I just thought we could…

Angel: Yeah, please just save it for later, I beg you please stop stalking me, I don’t like people bearing James

James: Right, I understand

After school I managed to get home as early as 4:30 and my daddy wasn’t home yet, I met Nanny grace at home and I snubbed her

James got home and met his sister at home…

James: Hey sis, what's up? Why are you home so early??

Kate: Nothing, I just got a shift from work and you what's up why are you so early today

James: This is the new time we close, I changed school remember

Kate: Right!!! How was the school?? Do you like it??

James: it's fine, stressful and also with a lot of drama

Kate: Yeah, I know you love free food but I wanna hear it all, what about the drama and why was it stressful??

James: Yeah, it was stressful because I had a lot of stress filling and providing those admission document and since I was a transferred student it even made it more stressful for me, yeah and about the drama can you believe that girl who gave me a phone to call you that other day was also going to that school

Kate: Errm, James what girl are you talking about because you never told me about any girl

James: Remember, The girl whose phone I used to call you that day you were missing??

Kate: Ohh, yes I remember the girl with an attitude, Money woman??

James: Yes, exactly she was sitting right next to me today

Kate: How did it go?? What else happened??

James: It was really bad

Kate: Did you guys kissed??

Kate: James, I thought you said she was insolent and rude to you that night and also that she only cares about money

Kate: Right but I thought you hated girls and she is black...

Kate: Well, I hope you are not starting to fall in love with her because you don't even believe in love

James: Yeah, I am glad you reminded me "He said" as he banged the door of his room and jumped on bed.
