Alpha

Feeling very positive about the progress I've made with Emmi. I close my eyes and just then Alex pops in my head "Eric, sorry to disturb, just wanted to find out how you're feeling any signs of headache or similar? I just got off the phone with the doctor and he wants some info before we arrive."

"Headache, is a definite yes. And ofcourse every other inch off me. But I guess that's what it feels like when breaking every bone in your body. Which reminds me how are we going to explain that? He will see I'm sure if any scans are done."

"Oky, got it I'll give him the info and not to worry he is a wolf,too. He's from the Rose and Gold pack. His Alpha permitted a job outside the pack grounds to help with finances, as you know a few years ago their main income was taken when the factory burned down"

"Thank you, Alex. I will try to sleep now, I'm dog tired."

"Haha, I did miss you and your bad jokes,Eric!"

I snuggle her closer, she's already fast asleep. This car ride with her proved a lot of things to me. The mate pull is a serious thing that will drive sane people mad. I could see her inner battle the whole time we were being intimate, she was constantly giving in to me and almost instantly regretting it, she doesn't have a choice. Just like I have no choice, I tried to give her space but being in such a small space with her and not touching her was impossible, ofcourse just holding hands was impossible,too. Altough I'm healing slowly and am still weak the mate pull drove me to seduce her, giving me a surge of energy. It took a lot to hold myself back and not take her right here, the sweet smell of her arousel made me want to r****h her, mark her en make her mine. Of course I had to hold back. She doesn't trust me as it is and it seems I have a lot to make up for but it does not look like an impossible task, she let down her defenses pretty easily. Still I can't shake the feeling that she might reject me and that I'll loose her. I smile and close my eyes slowly, if only I could keep her like this. I'm drowsy and sleep finds me quickly, her smell relaxes me and it feels as if I'm drifting on a cloud.

"Eric,  I'm pulling into the parking lot now. I'll be back to get you in a few". It feels like I'm hungover, I'm very foggy "Sure,Alex."

"Emmi, we're here" My eyes still closed, enjoying how it feels to have her so close, embracing me. "Hmm just one more minute,please." I plant a kiss on her head and she sits up promptly. The place where her head was, now cold and empty. "What happened to our minute?" My hand is still around her and she's trying to wriggle from my hold. When I open my eyes she is staring at me and all I can do is smile back at her, which makes her blush and I'm thrilled that I have that kind of effect on her. "Eric, we can't... I can't, what I'm trying to say is that we need to have boundaries..." Alex opens the car door and she jumps. I put my arm around her protectively, "Easy, it's just Alex". "Time to go he's ready for us." Alex says wriggling his nose, he must smell that something had happend in the back of the car. He talks to me in our mindlink, "Seriously? You just woke up and you're already being intimate with her?" his voice full of surprise. "Relax it's not what you think, I was just getting to know her a little," Alex doesn't answer but shakes his head as I get out of the car, clearly he doesn't approve. I try to shake off his negative energy. Walking into the huge building,she keeps her distance and a frown is on her face. She seems to be troubled. This doesn't sit well with me, I feel how anxious she is, and it affects my mood instantly. We are greeted by a nurse, and I smell that she is a wolf, too. This relaxes me, knowing that one of my kind will be doing the examinations. She leads us to a big corner office with an ocean view. Behind the desk a short little man sits, he jumps up and offers me his hand, "Alpha Eric, what a pleasure to meet again, I was devastated to hear about all that has happened, and ofcourse thrilled to hear of your recovery !" I'm distracted by Emmi but try to be polite, "Thank you, doc, shall we get right to it?"

The neurologist seems competent, he does his examination and sends me for several scans. I walk around in a hospital gown for most of the day. Emmi and Alex wait in the waiting room, I start to feel anxious when I realise that his assessment is not finished yet. He must have noticed, "I can send for your mate,Aplha?" I think for a moment, she doesn't believe that I've lost my memory so maybe this can help her see the truth, believe me. "Great idea, send her."

She's there moments later looking at my dazzling hospital gown. "Love what you've changed into, leaves nothing left for the imagination." her voice is playful and I sense that she's trying to lighten the mood. I put my arm behind my head pretending to pose, "Like what you see?" She puts her hand over her eyes "Always this corny?" I put my hand on my heart pretending to be hurt but before I can say anything she swaps her playful look for a more serious one. "Alex has been telling me a bit about this mate bond thing. He says I can help you relax in difficult situations or make you feel less angry or anxious. So it's true that by just smelling me I could help you?" I need to get Alex a raise and a case of beer. "Yes, that is true, the mate bond is powerful even more so after the mating process. One's mate can help healing, personal growth, and many other positive things." She seems more concerned about my well being than before. "Ok, so do you need that right now?" Her voice is seriously filled with concern and care. What ever Alex is talking to her about is clearly making her less defensive. I need to get Alex a weekend away,  too. I hate using the situation and lying to her but I have to seize every opportunity to get us closer to each other. "I'm about to be pushed into that tunnel thing behind me and I don't like small spaces so it would be great if you come... and be close to me, but just as close as you are comfortable being.. you know with the boundaries that you would like to set." She smiles like she's won the battle and walks over to me, stopping a few inches away from me. I inhale deeply and her scent is intoxicating, I reach for her hand and she looks to the roof, "Ok you can hold my hand but only if you promise nothing s****l will happen?" I have to laugh at her statement, "My Luna, another challenge?" She blushes and pulls her hand away quick. "PROMISE" she says hands on her hips. "I promise" I say rolling my eyes. She puts her hand in mine takes a step toward me and says, "I didn't think you could be afraid of anything. You know your men call you, 'The great and fearless one' right?"  She's so cute, she doesn't know that that's how we talk about all warriors, when we want to show that we admire them. I say it often to build my men up, they feel proud when I do. "My Luna, that is a term we use to show affection in the pack, I call all my men "fearless one" and just to be clear I am not afraid, small spaces just make me feel a bit trapped that's all." She nods and breaks eye contact looking at the floor. "I know what you mean," her eyes watery and I sense that she is pained by something, I just want to take her pain away, I pull her a closer so that now we are inches away from each other, she exhales loudly." You promised," holding her firm so she couldn't move I whisper, "Hugging is seen as s****l now? My apologies, Emmi," she blushes again sticks out her tongue at me and throughs her arms around my waist putting her head on my chest "Fine but make it a quick one, I'm starving and want to get out of here." "What made you so sad, just now?" She doesn't answer but pulls away and looks at me, the pain in her eyes now replaced with anger "Usually I give it to people straight, you know the truth will set you free and all that... plus I'm a Sagittarius, which means I have definite foot in mouth disease but there is a time and place for everything and this is not the time, let's get this last test done, speak to the doctor and have this talk later?" I'm surprised by her answer. She's confident and it seems my well being is important to her on some level. Pulling her to me once again, "Then let's get this over with" I kiss her quick before she has time to protest and let go of her hand but she doesn't move she stays there staring at me. "Yeah, we're going to have to have a serious talk about boundaries," I give her a smile but mean what I say seriously "Luna, the mate pull is too strong for me to stay away from you, I thought you knew this?" She let's her head fall and mutters, "This wolf-pack-connection-mate-pull-thing will be the end of me." she turns to walk and I slap her softly on the ass. With fire in her eyes she turns to me wagging her finger in my face, "NOT OK, NEVER OK," I put my hands up look at them innocently and say, "Don't look at me they have a mind of their own." She storms out and in the hall I hear her muttering to herself, "Get it together,Em, just get it together!" I sigh in relief, it's not a lost cause after all. I might be able to win her back, gain her trust. The doctor arrives explaining that I have to be still and that finally this would be the last test then he'll talk to us about what the results say. My smile never disappearing from my face. "The moongoddess has blessed you Aplha Eric,with giving you and your mate such a strong bond, I felt it even before you entered my office." I stare at him in disbelief "How did you know that she is my mate?" He shakes his head chuckling,"Alpha, even a human can feel the fire and connection between the two of you, wolves you can imagine can sense it even more so." This pleased me even more, Everyone should know that she belongs to me. "Strange that their is such a strong pull between a human and a wolf, iI've never heard of it before." He looks at me curiously, and he is right, that was one of the first things that went through my mind when I realised that she is not a wolf. It feels like he wants me to explain it to him but I have no answers, it's a mystery to me. He continues, "What I find to be really interesting is that she is here willingly? That is not something I've ever heard of, most humans find us dangerous and are scared of us! But then again with a bond THAT strong I guess she feels the pull almost as strongly as a wolf would?" I'm shocked by his comments, I don't really know this person, it feels intrusive and I don't like it, but I need his help, so I'm as polite as I can bare, "I am in the dark just as you are, doc, I woke this morning and found her in my bed, the details a mystery to me, that is why I'm here seeking your professional help, I could use those memories as you might imagine...meeting my Luna and having no memory of it is gnawing away at me with every passing second." He looks almost sad and touched by my words, and suddenly he has nothing to say, so I speak again, "Right, let's get this over with, shall we Doc?"  He pats me on the back, "Let's see what we can do, Alpha." I'm pushed into the machine and asked multiple questions, most about my feelings, emotions toward certain happenings like tradic events or celebrations, most of the time I feel calm and when he asks me about Emmi my heart starts to beat stronger, in a good way. The exciment that I've finally found her, my Luna, my mate can't be hidden and finally Dameon speaks to me again, "Eric you'll have to do all you can to keep her, don't let her go, she's our saving grace!" I don't like his tone, it seems to be accusing. "Dameon, would you relax? I'm working on it, it won't be as hard as I thought." "Pfft, arrogant, that's how we almost lost her the first time round."  Then he is gone again and I feel upset with him, he used to be my companian always with me, but since I've woken up he only seems to pop his head in when he has something negative to say, calling me names. What happened that my own wolf wouldn't want anything to do with me? Sadness and anger equally takes over me and I clench my fists. I want it all to be over, it feels like a storm is about to hit and I'm in the middle of it.
