FATE IS FATE

**DEPARTED HEARTS**

Anique was worried how she would break the news to Angus about her pregnancy and whether he would accept to take responsibility. They were still in high school. What will happen to her school life? As usual Angus waited for Anique at the school gate to walk her home but she didn't appear. Sha had decided to avoid him until she found the right opportunity to tell him about the pregnancy. Angus tried calling her but she wouldn't pick up the phone. He decided to go home, change and then go to Anique's home. On his way, he worried about what he had wrong to Anique that she did not appear to there meeting point. The day before they had gone to the Beach at night and had a lot of fun. Angus had taken Anique home and everything was fine between them, what could have changed?

When Angus reached home at his surprise his father was waiting him after at the door. "Young man what's wrong with you, I hired a driver to take you to school and bring you back to school and back home yet you still walk to school and back home. Don't you realise that you are the governor's son, what will people think about me when they see u walking on the road?" Angus ignored his father and went straight to his bedroom. "All he cares  about his reputation to other people. I miss the father I had before he became a governor." He thought to himself sadly. He threw himself on his bed wondering how he would leave the house with his father around. Suddenly his nanny walked in with his clothes on her hands. "Nanny let me help you. I also want a favour from you. I want to go to my friend's house please cover for me. Thanks in advance." He quickly  changed his clothes and left using the back door. His nanny with all the love she had for him stacked pillows under his blankets to appear like he was asleep.

Angus reached Anique's home and climbed up to her window. Anique was busy writing on her diary about her pregnancy when she heard a knock at her bedroom window. When she looked and saw it was Angus she got very scared. She opened the  window to let Angus outside. He walked in and hugged her tightly. "Wait Angus I have something to tell you. I'm..... I'm....... something ........no I'm....." Angus was confused and told her to tell him not to fear. "Okay I'm pregnant.

Angus was shocked and walked back. He sat on Anique's bed feeling very confused. His body felt weak and like his mouth had dried up and left gazing at the floor. Anique kept telling herself that Angus would refuse to take responsibility and soon she started crying. Angus stood up and comforted her as he held her tightly in his hands. He promised that he would make everything right then he left.

He headed up home still confused but determined to take up his responsibilities. At the gate he meet with his father. "Young man where do you think you are coming from at this time of the night? I want the truth or I will. .."  "Honey, leave the poor boy alone, you may go to ur room dear." Said his mother interfering with his father. Angus was so greatful to his mum. When he reached his room he called for his nanny and told her about everything that had happened. She advised him and then sang a lullaby for him until he fell asleep.

The next morning, Angus was in his parents room even before breakfasts was served and without hesitating he told them everything.

"What the hell, what is wrong with you boy, Do you know who I am in this region? What will people say when the learn that the governor's son has made a poor orphan pregnant. My government pays for that girl's school fees, she is practically like our slave. At least you could have looked for a girl of your class. Go to your room until we sort this matter out." Angus left feeling pained that his father would refer to Anique as a slave.

Both parents agreed that they were to send her to the states to finish her studies there until she gave birth. Angus father immediately got her the needed documents. The following day early in the morning Angus took Anique to the airport where he promised her that he would wait for her until she comes back. Anique just smiled and headed to the plane. She knew that Angus parents would never allow them to be together and that pained her a lot. Would this be the end of there love story??
