Wren had picked his mother up at the airport, and he was happy they were almost to his house. It would only be a matter of minutes before he pulled into the driveway and would have the ability to be out of the car and away from her for a moment. The drive had been almost three hours of silence, which was only broken by his mother’s complaints and snide remarks. Every complaint had somehow turned into a jab at his wife. He was beginning to wonder if he should turn around, take her back to the airport, and send her home. He also knew that if he did, his mother would somehow turn that into Lindsay’s fault as well.
