“I SAID NO. A PARENT CAN'T DONATE BLOOD TO THEIR CHILD. YOU ARE HIS FATHER, SO IT'S A NO.”
Wait a minute, I must have heard her wrongly. I turned to look at her.
Everywhere was so silent it was like no one was here.
“What did you just say?” I asked her, hoping what I heard was the wrong thing.
“I said you can't give Damien your blood because as his father, you can't give your blood. We need to find a blood donor for him. Please, let's hurry up. We don't have much time to waste.” she said, looking like she was panicking.
But she didn't look panicked about what she just said. She is panicking because of Damien situation.
I looked at my parents, wondering if I was the only one who had heard what she said. The looks on their faces show that we all heard it.
