Caroline couldn't believe Andrew showed signs of jealousy. It was cute seeing him act helpless before other guys. She rolled her eyes getting over blush and loosened the grip. Andrew gazed at her with surprise.
"What do you think you are doing?" He asked.
“Grumpyfineman, you were the one who chose this outfit for me….”
“Do not tell me you will start calling me that….”
“Yes, Mr Andrew. You’re now a Grumpyfineman to me.” She hissed, with her arms folded.
“Caroline, I need to discuss something with you that’s far more important than this party. I spoke to your dad today and it’s about a job….”
“This is work related, right?” She looked disappointed.
“Time is money. We can’t waste it.”
“I am so done with you. You do not even care about the moment. You don’t care about this lively environment and how happy everyone is. You know what, I need to use the restroom. Don’t wait for me” She said to him before walking away towards the ladies restroom. Andrew was an annoying man, she was certain. He was so annoying she’d wished she never got pregnant with his child. This guy was certainly pushing her on edge.
She had made her way in and stared at the mirror for a while. Ignoring the look of this second face plastered on hers, she’d picked her phone and called her sister.
“Laura, I am stressed.” She confessed.
“What do you mean?” Laura asked.
“My husband is stressing me out. I do not know what to do. At a point he speaks of class, at another he is insecure another guy would get me and advises me to keep a low key life.”
“I see. So you suspect he’s falling for you?”
“No! I think he is insane and needs an asylum. That guy is a vessel of confusion. And you know how easy going my life is. I do not let confusion get in at all.”
“Caroline, this is all happening because he doesn’t love you. But everyone knows you are his wife, he is trying to save his name. Imagine if you cheat on him, that will defame him for sure.”
Caroline hissed.
“So selfish.”
“This is why you need to act like his ex. You need to make him fall for you. You’ve got no other choice.”
“Yeah, about that plan. I was hoping to work on it tomorrow. I haven’t really had the time to go shopping.”
“You’ve suspended this plan for too long. Try to get it done as much as possible, okay?”
Caroline sighed.
“I will listen because you’re my sister and you suggested this.”
“That’s why I am here. Where are you by the way?” Laura asked.
“I am in the ladies restroom, trying to get my mind together.”
“Alright. That’s great. Do well to take good care of yourself.”
Caroline agreed and hung up. She’d raced her head up to the mirror again. Suddenly, a knock came on the ladies restroom door. This surprised her since ladies just walked in and hardly knocked.
“What the freak?” She’d thought.
She’d stared at the door for a while wondering what was happening. Since she was alone by herself, she’d assumed one of the ladies forgot the restroom door was accessible.
“It’s open! Come in!” She alerted.
The door did open, but the person who walked in wasn’t a lady. It was a strange looking guy, who seemed to have a smile plastered on his face. She was shocked.
“You shouldn’t be here. Please get out.” She’d reached for her pepper spray.
“I know. I am sorry. I am just here to tell you something about your husband. It’s very important you know this.” He explained.
“That doesn’t mean you should enter the ladies restroom.”
“Please…” he’d shut the door and walked in closer. She gripped the pepper spray now. “Please, let me speak to you about him. I am Drey, his best friend.”
She had let go of the pepper spray instantly.
“He speaks of you.” Caroline finally relaxed. “But doesn’t explain why you got the nerve to walk in here, though….”
Suddenly the door was opened and Andrew walked in with a look of impatience. He was tremendously shocked by the sight of his best friend and Caroline.
“What?!” He exclaimed. “Drey?!”
“It’s not what you think. I was here to speak with her….”
Andrew was already too pissed to listen to an explanation. He had held Caroline’s hands and walked out.
