THIRTY-ONE James allowed himself two beers after walking Rigs. He figured two wouldn’t make much difference. When there was a knock on the door, he stood up. He felt a little light-headed. He was fine. The beer just touched the ends of his senses. It let them tingle. When he opened the door, Monty stood on the small deck. He had his hands in his pockets. He wore a wool cap on his head. His cheeks were red, and he was smiling. “Hey, buddy!” James opened his arms. They hugged hello. “Ready for some burgers and fries?” “I am ready for a burger and some fries.
