Zylphia's POV.
After Rue and I left the building, we had to split to do what we had to do.
I was supposed to be at a meeting, and I also had a blind date to attend, which I definitely didn't want to go for.
I was deep in my thoughts, thinking about how to escape the blind date, without much talk from Rue.
Rue being more of a mother to me, I hated being rude to her.
We were good friends- yes, but she found me during my stay abroad, and she had been a very good person to me.
Hence, she has been my mother.
"I'll go for the meeting, you do what you have to do." She declared, sealing the issue.
"But-"
"No buts.
"You've delayed this date enough. Your grandfather made me promise to see you get married before the age of 25.
And here you are, not even talking to any man."
You can't marry your work, hon" She said, flashing a smile at me.
Grandfather. I didn't know him. But she claimed that she does.
That was not the nagging matter for now.
The date.
"Okayyy- I'll go." I finally succumbed, raising my hands in defeat.
"Good." She said and smiled, walking me to my car.
On entering my car, I waved as she walked towards her just arriving ride which she ordered moments ago.
"Sky High hotel."
I opened the text she sent earlier about the details of the date.
I entered the private lounge which should have been booked, led by a fair waiter.
"Thanks" I said and walked into space that was closer to the glass.
I took my seat, since he was not there yet.
Such a time keeper.
I took a deep breath, closing my eyes to stretch a little.
During the stretch, I heard abrupt footsteps approaching me.
"Sorry for keeping you waiting." The magnetizing voice echoed in my head.
Ehh? I loved deep voices. Of course, being a girls girl, I loved abs, charming voices, and most importantly, breathtaking faces.
My ideal type was a tall 6'4 man, with a fair skin, with a head full of hair.
My eyes snapped open and stared directly into green orbs, piercing directly at me. His downturned eyes made it seem like I was the only one in his sight. And that attention, oh-how I loved it.
He flashed his teeth at me, and I loved his set of teeth.
Oh wow.
What a masterpiece.
Remember I told you about my type?
Yes. This was exactly what I meant.
His maroon wine hair neatly arranged to the side caught my attention next.
I hated flashy colours.
But he made maroon beautiful.
"Miss Roead, right?" He asked, wondering where my attention was.
"Yeah, Mr Jenkins?" I said, snapping back into reality.
"Correct" He said with a smile, taking his seat.
I couldn't get angry at him, because, what a masterpiece.
"So-what do you want to order?" He asked me gently, a flicker shining in his green eyes.
As if on cue, the same manner of gentleness in his eyes flashed in my head. As if my memory wanted to play a trick on me.
I looked at his eyes again, which was locked on me, and a strange sense of familiarity overwhelmed me.
"Coffee is okay." I said to him, forcing a smile.
"I need to use the ladies for a bit" I said to him calmly, compared to the storm that was brewing within me.
"Are you okay?" He asked, concern etched on his face.
"Yeah, just need to touch on my makeup." I said and made for the ladies.
After the trouble I had with locating the ladies, I finally got in and wiped the sweat that was brewing on my face and neck.
Luckily, I hadn't put much makeup on, so I sprinkled water on my face as his face popped in my head again.
Kyle?
