Rough Way

Few days later

Vacation is over, everyone had to go back to their daily lifestyle.

Ella looked at the small mirror before her and check herself as she thought about her mom.

“Mom! Dad! am starting a new job today be with me and guide me” she muttered as she placed the bracelet on her neck. Just then Alex came in all dressed for his new school.

“You looking so stunning Ella ” Alex sang Ella's praises.

“Thanks and stop with the hyping it doesn't suit you”Ella said smiling at Alex.

“Sometimes I wonder if you truly my sister or dad and mom just adopted you”Alex said moving a step away from Ella because he knows what she is capable of doing hearing that from Alex she threw the pillow on the bed on him.

“You have no manners, I will deal with you today”Ella smirked at him and chase him round the bed. Just then Carlos called Ella.

“Ella !…..“ Carlos calls out Ella name.

Ella rushed downstairs and promise to deal with Alex later.

“Yes sir you called for me”Ella said. Carlos was standing with his bag with him.

“It getting late already I know you don't want to be late to your new work”Carlos asked

“Yes sir , let me call Alex out I will be right back sir” she said and went to call Alex. She dragged Alex ear outside while he was begging to be freed.

“Let him go Ella we getting late already , Alex I will be following you to school today to clear the bills and some other things”Carlos said. The girls were already outside waiting for Alex.

“Ok sir thank you very much sir”Alex shows his gratitude.

“ You are welcome and also Ella you know the way to the restaurant I showed you yesterday so you shouldn't have any problem getting there right”he asked. Ella nodded in agreement and they all departed to their various destinations.

Ella got to the restaurant it wasn't so big but it so beautiful.

“Good morning ma I am here to take the job of a waiter” Ella told one of the lady working there. The lady wore blue gown which looks so beautiful on her, she is a very beautiful lady.

“Come with me” She responded and took her inside the office. A woman was sitting on the chair pressing her laptop.

“ooh you are the new waiter right”The woman asked her.

“Yes ma”Ella responded politely

“ There is no time Vivian show her around and give her uniform then after closing hour come and see me am referring to you what your name it escaped my mind”she asked her.

“Ella ma”she replied

“Ok Ella make sure you see me after closing hour”She said and Ella nodded in agreement. Vivian escorted her out of the office.

After closing hour Ella went to see the manager.

“Yes ma you told me to come and see you”Ella asked

“Oooh that true you can have your sit I want to discuss your salary with you and some other rules in this restaurant.

“Ok ma” Ella replied anticipating to know what the woman as to say.

“You will be paid monthly with the amount of 800$ and you are to resume duty by 8:00am and leave by 6:pm and you must be very accommodating and customer friendly are we clear”She asked with a frank face .

Ella wasn't really satisfied with the pay because when she was at home her salary was like her daily allowance but atleast she was grateful she got the job.

“Thank you very much it clear ma” She responded

“You can have your leave now”She said. Ella nodded and walked out of the office.

Ella got home past 7 she was very exhausted and tired. She entered the sitting room and saw the twins and Alex watching TV.

“ Ella! it nice you back come join us this movie is really interesting”Jasmine said walking towards Ella who looked so stressed out ,Flourish noticed this.

“Go and freshen up first and come have your food I will get it for you “ she said and walked to the kitchen. Ella could not but wonder how smart she was Jasmine is also very outspoken but Ella could not but prefer Flourish more.

“Let me help you with your bag” Alex said and escorted her to the room.

“You look so tired Ella I don't want you getting sick because of this job maybe you should just stop this job before it too late just the first day and you are like this” Alex spoke with a worried face.

“I am fine Alex it just that my body is not use to this you know have never done this before but I know with time my body would adjust you don't have to be so paranoid I will be fine”Ella said and hugged him

“Thank you so much I owe you big time don't worry when I grow up I will repay you I will make sure I take care of you”He said confidently

Ella admired his confidence he is such a darling she later told him to go back to the sitting room that she would join them soon.

Late at night Carlos came back from work the kids were already asleep in the sitting room he off the TV and woke them to go to there various rooms.

Beep! Beep! Beep! The alarm kept ringing until Ella managed to off it she wasn't fully awake.

“O my jeez…. It 6:00am already I have to get ready”Ella quickly jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom.

Some minutes later she came back to wake Alex up because he is a very sound sleeper he could sleep for the next 10 decades.

“Alex ! Alex you better get yourself out of that bed before I come and give you the beating of your life” Ella said even when she fully knows she doesn't stand an inch against Alex he would just fling her away but her ego won't make her accept the truth.

He sluggishly got up from bed and find his way to the bathroom like a drunkard.

After some few minutes Alex came back from the bathroom by this time Ella is all done and prepared for work.

“I forgot to ask how was your day at school , yesterday was too hectic for me I totally forgot”Ella asked

“ It was fine it was a little bit tense at first because you know there are lots of new faces and people with different characters but thanks to the twins am catching up really fast”.He said

“That good to hear concentrate on your studies and stop flirting with girls again” Ella said teasing him.

“You just like getting on my nerves when did you see me flirting you such a fat lier”He said shifting backward incase she was planning to hit him. Knowing Ella too well she was planning on giving him a punch.

“ Am older than you silly did you just call me a lier”Ella frowned at him

“This is not the first time am hearing that let just go outside before you get late for work your Royal Highness”Alex said teasing her.

“I will deal with you later”Ella said and they both went out of the room.

Carlos was already in the sitting room at this moment

“Good morning guys” Carlos greeted them with a smile on his face

“Good morning sir” They both replied

“How was your night and also I didn't want to disturb you yesterday night because I came back very late at night how did it go yesterday I hope it wasn't too stressful” He asked.

“It was fine Sir am really enjoying it sir” Ella replied

“That good to hear” He said. By this time the twins were already in the sitting room.

They all left to there various places.

Ella arrived to the restaurant looking agile and ready for the day's work. Some minutes later a guy came him with a lady.

“Good day sir and ma what do you like to have?” Ella asked politely

“Your menu please?” The lady asked and she handed it over to her.

“ I will be taking chicken & chorizo jambalaya with a glass of fruit juice” She said and passed the menu to the guy who just kept staring at Ella like he saw a ghost his chest was beating really fast.

“i would have Sweet potato & peanut curry with some red wine” He said still glaring at her

“Ok your order would be here in a jiffy“ Ella said with a smile on her face and left to get the order.

Why am I feeling tensed I don't usually feel this way it quite strange my chest as never beated this fast for anyone not even Jackie Lilo thought as Ella walked away.

“Lilo are you here? I noticed you have being absent minded since the waiter left what wrong” Jackie asked. Just then Ella came back with there order.

“Enjoy your meal” She said and left

“It nothing am fine just being stressed lately let just eat our food” He said she nodded and they digged in.

“Hmmm Ella it like you going to get yourself a big fish very soon I saw how that customer was staring at you” Vivian said pulling Ella's leg.

“OMG! Vivian don't be like that am sure you just got it mixed up he must have been staring at some other thing and surely not me what is in me to stare at “ Ella replied her.

“I know you joking about that no guy would want to take their eyes off you you are so beautiful and blessed in the right places, full package. Vivian said hailing her.

“ Stop the hyping you just impossible”Ella said laughing at her. Customers kept coming in it was as if they all planned it.

“Good afternoon ma what can we offer you”Ella asked the woman sitting in front of her.

“Stop asking me silly questions give me your menu” she said proudly. Ella gave her the menu still maintaining her composure.

“Get me easy sausage casserole with a glass of lemon juice”she said

“Ok ma “ She said and left to get the food

Few minutes later Ella came back with the her order

“What is the meaning of this why would you serve my food with this dirty plates are you just so dumb or you blind you can't see this plates are dirty” She shouted at her.

“Ma this plates are neatly washed and cleaned I can't see any stain on it” Ella tried to explain before she could finish her words the woman poured the juice on her face every one deviated there attention to them.

“Get this bullshit you call food out of my sight” She said angrily

Take this to clean your face a hand handed her a handkerchief she faced him still trying to fight her tears.

“Excuse ma you are totally wrong for harassing her just because you claimed the plates weren't clean that doesn't give you any right what so ever to do that to her” Lilo said angrily he couldn't just stand there and watch her treat her like that something in him couldn't take it anymore he felt he was the one being humiliated no doubt there is something in this girl that makes her so attracted to him like that.

“And who do you think you are to lecture me on what to do and what not to do you will be sorry when you find out who you messing with” She said arrogantly Lilo smiled at her and frowned almost immediately.

“Please who are you I really want to know because maybe that would make me regret coming here to confront you” He asked with a straight face his eyes were so intimidating that the woman was speechless.

“I am the wife of the owner of Yale's cooperation and it won't take me a minute to get you arrested this instance” The woman yelled at Lilo.

“Wow this sounds more interesting than I thought so you are Mr Williams wife am sure you wouldn't want to get on my bad side because as far as I can remember your husband's company is going bankrupt right now I don't even know why you here wasting your time here instead of you to help him solve his problem ooops I forgot you just a local house wife” Lilo smirked at her. He was really enjoying what he was doing. Jackie was just watching the drama she didn't expect Lilo to do such a thing she as known him since they were little her parents and his parents are friends they both spent there childhood together and she is always hoping for a future with him and that one day Lilo would see her more than just a friend and a sister. he hardly stood up for people especially strangers he only does that to people he was close to and this girl is a total stranger to him so why is he doing this. Jackie could not but wonder.

“How dare you call me such who do you think you are” The woman shouted at him angrily.

“You will find out eventually give this to your husband and the next time you try that again you will be sorry”Lilo said and handed her his card. He walked away to his seat without even looking at Ella.

The woman was so angry and ashamed she couldn't withstand the embarrassment she left the restaurant immediately.

Ella wanted to thank the guy who helped her but when she turned to his direction he had already left with the lady . Just then Vivian came to her side and tapped her.

“Ella the manager calls for you you can go ahead I will help you with the cleaning” she stares at the mess the woman caused she wasn't so shocked about what happened because she as experienced more than that in the hands of some wicked customers.

“Thank you dear” Ella responded and went to the manager office.

Excuse ma you called for me she asked politely

“Yes I heard you had a fight with one of the customer what was that for “ She asked

“Ma it not like that I got the customer her order but she complained that the plates weren't clean but I tried explaining to her that we maintain premium hygiene in our restaurant the plates are perfectly cleaned but she didn't allowed me to finish before she poured the juice on my face am so sorry ma “ Ella said sadly. The manger stares at her indifferently.

“Next time you don't have to argue with her just get her another plates .I really don't want any problem here and I hope such won't repeat itself again” She asked

“Yes ma it will never happen again thank you ma” She said rubbing her palms together.

“Ok you can get going now”She said and Ella went out of the office.

Later that day Ella got home really sad but she couldn't open up to anyone because she doesn't want to be a burden. Days went by Ella didn't see the guy at the restaurant again she was anticipating to see him to thank him for the other day but he didn't show up.

Ella got back from work one day really happy after so many days of looking sad maybe because there weren't any problem at work so far this really gave her peace of mind but some part in her still wants to see him.

“Wow Ella you look rather happy than usual today what popping” Alex asked

“Nothing am just fine everything is working out this pass few days and I am beginning to enjoy my job that all” she replied him

“Well that good to hear” he said just then Carlos called Ella. She quickly rushed to him.

“Yes sir you called me” she asked

“Yes I wanted to asked you how you coping with your new job” he asked Ella could not but think about how lucky she was to have met such a caring man who took care of her and Alex like his own children it rare nowadays.

“It fine sir am getting use to there system and am starting to enjoy it” she responded

“That good to hear am so proud of you and you can call me uncle that sir sounds really weird” he told her with a smile on his face.

“Ok uncle is there anything you will like to say” she asked

“No you can leave now my dear” he replied and Ella went to the kitchen to assist the twins.

Later that day Ella went to the room to get some rest.

“O my God this thing is here I totally forgot about it I was too occupied this past few days to calculate when it will come” Ella said to herself as her period came that night it was getting dark already and there weren't any sanitary pads at home. She quickly left to the twins room if they had any.

“Excuse guys sorry for disturbing can I come in” she asked

“Of course you can “ Flourish answered.

“I wanted to ask if you have any sanitary pad I totally forgot it was going to come today I would have bought it while coming from work” She asked.

“It like I have one remaining Jasmine finished her's yesterday but you have to get another one for tomorrow but you can have this now”Flourish gave her the pad .

“ Thanks sis” she said and quickly left to Clean herself up . She came out few minutes later

“Can you escort down the street to get one” Ella asked the twins

“Ok but what would we tell Dad” Jasmine asked

“ I will just tell him we want to get something outside” she said and they all left to the sitting room. Alex and Carlos were watching footballl they were so engrossed that they may not even noticed if they had left without saying a word.

“Uncle I want to get something down the street Flourish and Jasmine are also coming along” Ella told him.

“Ok be care and come back soon you know it getting late already” he managed to say without even taking his eyes off the screen. They all nodded and went out.

“Let walk fast it getting late and I don't want uncle getting angry”Ella said as they all walked towards the mall. Ella told the twins to wait for her while she goes to get it from the mall . They nodded in agreement and waited for her. She crossed the road and went inside the mall when she was coming back a car was coming with a full speed Ella wasn't looking at that direction she was just smiling at the twins while she walks towards them.

Flourish turned and saw the car coming she quickly shouted Ella's name.

“Ella ! Move back !“ She shouted before Ella could sense the danger it was too late she was ran over by the car.

The car stopped and a lady came out of the car looking very scared she quickly rushed to Ella who was already unconscious and bleeding profusely. The twins ran to her.

“ Ella wake up “ Jasmine shouted

why did you do that can't you see she was there we need to take her to the hospital right now. Flourish said crying profusely. The lady quickly carried her with the help of the twins inside the car and drove to the hospital.

“Hello! something bad as happened I didn't know how it happened I tried pressing the brake it didn't worked I ran a girl over it wasn't intentional am on my way to the hospital please meet me at Mandy hospital am losing my mind already I don't know if she would survive it she is bleeding drastically she said crying she stared at the back and saw that Ella was becoming all pale. She drives even faster. They arrived at the hospital and they quickly rushed her to the ICU her case was really serious she as sustained a very serious external injury they had to operate on her immediately. Jasmine and Flourish were crying uncontrollable they were afraid about Ella's life they don't want her to die they have grown to like and love her she was a sister to them.Just then a guy came inside the hospital he is so handsome from the look of things he must be the one the lady called.

“How is the girl now is it really that fatal” he asked the guy happened to be Lilo the guy who helped Ella in the restaurant the other day and the girl who hit Ella with the car was Jackie the lady he came with.

“ She is in a very critical condition she is in the operating room right now” Jackie said crying Lilo stared at the twins sitting on the chair beside her he felt something in him just got missing but he didn't know what it was.
