″Ryder, it's been a while ,″the voice said, sending a shiver down my spine . I tried to place the voice , but it was like a ghost haunting me from my past . I had to be careful because my rival Tyson Kane , was always trying to harm me , on or off field

″ Who's this ?″ I asked , in a firm voice , trying to play it cool , but my heart was racing with possibilities . What did this person want from me ? , and how did they know my secret ?

The voice chuckled , ″ don't you remember me ″ we had an unforgettable night a few years back and my heart sank as I realised who it might be . It was Alex, Rachel's husband , who was on the other line .

″I asked him , "What did you want ″? I asked him , trying to stay calm. At the same time I was thinking about the worst scenario that could happen to me. What if He knows about my secret, what if he was going to expose me ….

Then he said I should meet him by 5pm tomorrow at a remote area , telling me he has something that I might be interested in . something that could change everything, I was torn . Part of me wants to know what Alex is up to , but another part of me is telling me to stay away . I had too much to lose

But my curiosity got me .″ When and where? ″ I asked , Alex gave me an address , I agreed to meet him . but still wondering what I was getting myself into .

As I hung up the phone , my mind was racing . What was Alex planning and how will it affect my life ?

Meanwhile Sofia Rodriguez , a sports journalist that has been investigating my personal life . She had a reputation of being ruthless in her Pursuit of Scoop , and I had to be careful . But I also know that I couldn't avoid her forever ..

When we met at a coffee shop , she was her usual feisty self ″ so Ryder , I heard you are not as perfect as everyone thinks , she said raising her eyebrow, I sighed , thinking of how to escape from her hands , because I don't want to give her any ammunition .

But Sofia was relentless , trying to push me back and front and I must admit I am getting frustrated , because I hate being cornered

Just as I thought I was going to lose my cool , Sofia's phone rang , immediately she picked it up, her facial expression changed , and she told me she was leaving immediately .

I sighed , a bit of relief from her . but even though I know this is just a temporary thing , she will still be back . and next time it wouldn't be easy to shake her off .

As I watched her figure leaving I couldn't help but wonder which secret she was hiding . and then , I saw a text from an unknown number telling her to meet her at the usual place . ″ I have something you need to see ″ concerning Ryder .

Sofia's eyes glued to the text , and for a moment , I felt a glimmer of fear . What was going on ?and how is it connected to me ?

As I walked away from the coffee shop, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unese , the mysterious text has given question than answer . who was she meeting and what did they have to do with me ?

I decided to follow her , curious about what she's up to . I tail her from a distance careful not to be seen , dodging in and out of alley and side streets.

Finally , she stopped in a nondescript office building. She made a sighed of relieved then stepped inside . I followed her trying to blend with the crowd . inside , I found myself in a cremped elevator .The doors closed and I was trapped .

Suddenly, the elevator stop on a floor that wasn't the lobby ,the doors opens and Sofia stepped out .

I followed her, finding my self in a luxurious office. That has a better furniture ,and has a floor - to - ceiling window for a clearer view of the city .

A figured emerged from the shadow , my jaw dropped

It was my ex - wife , Victoria

″ what are u doing hear I demanded? ″ trying to be calm .

Victoria smiled ,″ I've been playing a game , Ryder , the game of cat and mouse in which you are the pawn ″,

Sofia stepped forward and a smug look on her face , ″ I've been investigating you Ryder . and I think I have uncovered a few secrets .

My heart sank , I started panicking thinking of different things that would happen to me if she truly knew my secret . How much did she know ?

But before she could continue , the door burst open. Tyson Kane walked in .

″ Ah , perfect timing ″ , Victoria said smiling , her eyes gleaming with malice , Tyson , dear I think it's time you know the truth about Ryder .

Tyson Kane eyes narrowed , His face darkening with anger .

What are you talking about , Victoria ?

Victoria leaned forward , with a devilish smile spreading across her face .″ Ryder has a daughter , Tyson , a daughter he kept hidden from the world .
