The rejected Luna's comeback

Freya I placed my hand on my chest, a futile attempt to calm my fast-beating heart. I was excited. Damn! I was overly excited. It had just clocked three years since Asher and I got married, and for the last two years, we had been trying to conceive with no success but finally....... "Luna? everything is ready!" One of the pack members shouted excitedly, and my eyes shone with stars as I looked at the scene before me. Yeah, you heard that right! I am a Luna to one of the largest packs in the country, and my husband, Asher, is the Alpha. Finally, we are going to have a pup of our own. 'I linked my wolf, too happy to contain my excitement. We were in the pack's multipurpose min hall. My mate, Asher, had been too busy dealing with the pack border issues, and I was planning a surprise for him. I wanted to deliver news of my pregnancy grandly. It was a joyous occasion. He was soon going to be a father. The entrance to the hall was decorated with clusters of balloons, creating a warm and peaceful ambience. Red roses were strewn everywhere, setting a romantic mood in the air. I held the ultrasound pictures closer to my heart as I imagined what my little pup looked like in its early days. I was already 12 weeks along, which came as a surprise since I had not experienced any signs before I went to the Pack hospital the day before. I was busy handling some paperwork when I experienced strong and severe pain in my chest down to my abdomen, which prompted me to go for a check-up. After countless tests, I cried buckets as the doctor divulged the contents of the examinations - I was pregnant. A happy tear slid from my eyes as I looked at everything. It was almost surreal. I almost felt like I was dreaming. Who would have thought that I, Freya Wells, would be the Luna to this powerful pack? If anyone had said that I would be fated to Asher, the hot and famous Alpha, I would have thought that they were crazy. I mean, who in their wildest dreams would pair the two of us? I was a Gamma's daughter, and nothing was interesting about me, I was my father's unliked daughter, and he made sure that the whole pack knew about it. The rest of the time, she would just sit in a corner, watching as her daughter was being beaten while she cried along. Watching her, it was both funny and annoying because I could not grasp her thought process, and I hated how submissive she acted around my father. Even the then Luna was not as submissive to her mate, the Alpha, as my mother was to her Gamma mate; how funny! But no matter what, I could never bring myself to hate my mother. " Someone is very happy and emotional at the same time." Shayna's soft voice drew me from my reverie, and I shot her an annoyed look. "Don't mess my hair up, Shay! My husband is yet to see it!" I pouted. "One more word about your husband, and I will stop being your best friend. Why must you torture your unmated friend like this? Can't we talk without dragging him into our conversation?" Shayna complained seriously, and I shot her a helpless look. She was one of the people who never came to terms with the fact that Asher accepted me as his mate and Luna. She had a space in her heart that was filled with hatred for my husband. "Don't talk about your Alpha like that, Shay! Can you try to get along with him, for me, at least? Look, it has been three years since we got married and he is still very good to me. Give him a chance, at least for our unborn pup. " I tried to convince with a gentle voice. Your father might be coming too, just in case. " Shayna informed cautiously, and my body stiffened at the mention of my father. Since I got mated to the Alpha, I could count the number of times that I saw my father. After I moved into the pack house, I never went back to my home. Nervously, I tried to smoothen the creases on my beautiful white dress as I walked to the entrance, ready to welcome my mate. I had a sense of foreboding as I waited for him, but I brushed it off, blaming it on my nervousness or even the early pregnancy hormones. I could almost smell my husband's intoxicating scent as he neared, and a happy smile found its way to my lips, but it froze from what I saw next. Before me stood my husband, Alpha Asher, but he was not alone. Next to him stood a very familiar figure, and they were holding each other intimately as they walked towards me.
