As soon as he was sure Cassie was asleep, Jon walked quietly to his escritoire and wrote another note to Sheldrake, this time telling him about the price on Sasha’s head. Jon was alarmed that she had become such a high-profile target. It was becoming too dangerous to keep her at Sheldrake’s. And Jon didn’t feel sure she would be any safer here at the palace, even with the increased security that had been put in place at the palace since the a*******n. He wondered if perhaps Sheldrake, Maud, Stefan, and the others should meet, unaware that they had had the same thought.
He wrote his thoughts to Sheldrake and crossed to the door, handing the note to the footman outside for delivery. It was still early but he wouldn’t go out and risk having Cassie waking up and finding him gone.
