A Rogue

Trevor's POV I watched from a tree line as a man pulled into Trixies drive way. Duke and I became jealous and watched an older man climb out of the car. Duke stated 'Hunter' and nodded as he watched him approach the house with a pan of food in his hands. It smelled good. She greeted him happily at the door. I've never seen her smile so big before. Not in person, at least, only in the photo on her dresser. I wanted to make her smile that big, bring her true happiness. The only thing I was able to do for her earlier was pay her electric bill. I listened to talk inside the house to the man. Called him Paul. I waited to hear if she was a Hunter too and knew of our kind. I got my answer when Paul scented me in side the home and began yelling about leaving. We became defensive listening to him try to take her away. I wanted to swoop in and protect her from the Hunter, but I couldn't just yet. He yelled about how Brad was murdered by creatures. When he laid a hand on her again, a snarl escaped my lips to warn the Hunter I was nearby and listening. It seemed to do the trick as I heard him, warn her, and went running out of the house. He sped out of the driveway and took off down the road. I debated going after him. He was most likely going to tell the other hunters I was in the area. They weren't my concern right now, I listened to Trixie make a phone call to the sheriff. The hunters believed we were viscious creatures. We wanted to kill all humans. That wasn't the case at all. We just wanted to be left alone. They should really worry about the vampires. We cared about 3 things protecting our kind, running, and our mates. That's all we wanted. We didn't want to run the world. It would be nice if humans just learned to handle mystical creatures, though. I was the last of my family alive. The rest were dead by old age or ambushed by Hunters. It would only make sense that my mate would be connected to the Hunters. Once Trixie was safely in bed, I left my post. I still had a she-wolf to hunt down. I decided to check out a few bars since we were social creatures. It was Friday night, and the bars should be a good place to hunt down a she-wolf. I entered the 3rd bar of the night, and as always, all the women watched me. Some were drunk loudly and stated how "hot" I looked. Ignored them all, I happen to actually smell another wolf here. Definitely a rogue to. I followed my nose around the bar till I laid eyes on her. I recognized this woman from the Bridal Shop where Trixie worked. The blonde one I heard, they called Jessie. She wasn't the one I was looking for, but she might have some information. She must've smelled me to because she stopped and glared right at me. I approached her. "May I ask you a few questions?" I asked her out loud since I couldn't mind linking her. Jessie nodded and made her way through the crowds. She knew it was easier to just answer questions. I could report I found a rogue to the council and they'll come for her. She led me outside, where it was quieter. A lot of women glared at her in jealousy as we walked by. Once outside, Jessie turned to me and waited for a question. "I'm seeking a she-wolf from the Oak Pack. I was wondering if you knew of her?" I asked her quietly Jessie sighed, taking a sip from her drink before answering. "A new rogue popped up in town a few weeks ago, I've seen her here and there." "Where was the last place you saw her?" I asked as Jessie looked around the street "Down on main Street, looked pretty depressed and thin. Shouldn't be hiding too far." She stated, pointing in the direction of the main street. I smiled at her. "Thank you." I said before continuing."You know it can be dangerous out here alone. If you ever need a pack, we will be happy to accept you." I told Jessie as she shrugged her shoulders and stalked off to be with her friends. I'll have to keep an eye on Main Street now, too. Hopefully, spot this rogue and convince her to come home to her pack. From what Jessie said, it sounded like there's not too many rogues out this way since she was able to remember one showing up. So, 2 jobs now, I had to track a she- wolf and earn my mates trust. Lucky me.
