Chapter Three

I feel Someone tapping me , trying to wake me up from my slumber only to open my eyes to meet Edward’s intense gaze. I swallow hard as my head skips .

“Wake up sunshine” he says , making my heart halt at the nickname . What I would give to wake up like this everyday .

“You need to stop looking at me like that “

“How am I looking at you ” I reply back sitting up from the coach

“ like you want to devour me ” he says with an arrogant smile

“ I would really love to devour you ” I say before realizing what I said only for him to chuckle at what I said while I pray for the ground to swallow me to save me from the embarrassment. How could I have said that out loud .

“Come on , don’t be hard on your self . If it makes you feel better , I also find you quite appetizing ” he says to make me feel better but that only made me blush more

“ common let’s go ” he says dragging me to my feet and I follow without reluctance.

Scrolling down the streets, I realized how peaceful the town is . The warmth at which they relate with each other , the happy kids playing in-front of their houses and I look at Edward thinking about how I would love to do this everyday for the rest of my life . Live in peace with him , in this town ,away from the chaos I left back home .

Walking into a supermarket, I noticed two bulky men staring angrily at us almost like they want to batch our heads into the wall or rather my head into the wall as the intensity of their angry gaze was set in me but what did I do , I don’t even know these men . They looked like they were related but one has dreadlocks while the other is in low cut .I look over at Edward to see if he noticed them but he seems to be occupied as he was talking to an old man who looks to be in his late fifties . I turned back to the Men to see that they had disappeared, I look around but I couldn’t catch a glimpse of them . Their stare will be stuck in my head for a while that I know so I shrug it off and head to meet Edward .

As soon as they notice me coming , they stop talking and face me instead . I didn’t think much of it so I just stand beside Edward who introduced me to the man who turns out to be the town chief Mike

“ you look just like your mother ” he says looking at me affectionately , not understanding why I just smile back at him . Guess my mum was from this town even though she lied to me about being an orphan and not knowing where she came from as she grew up in an orphanage in Paris .

“Well we have to get going ” Edward said to the man

“ I also have to go , take care of yourselves and it was nice seeing you again dear ” Mike said leaving us standing there

Again? Has this man seen me before . But I don’t know him , what’s he talking about . First the Men , now Mike . I need to ask mum when I see her . We end up getting few supplies and groceries for the house then we head back home . The night was uneventful as we only had dinner and I didn’t ask mom the series of questions running through my mind .

Rolling around in bed , I check the time to see it’s past midnight but I can’t sleep . I can’t get Edward off my mind and the strange things that has been happening. I feel so restless so I decide to go and see if anyone is awake not that I except anyone to be awake this late . So I head over to the kitchen to get water from the fridge , the house is so quite you could hear a pin drop . After drinking water, I head back to the room only to bump into Edward outside the kitchen , I jump back startled.

“ oh I didn’t see you there ” I say

“ yeah I came to get water , I didn’t mean to scare you ”

“ it’s fine , it’s not your fault ” I say only realize that I was only putting on a transparent gown with nothing underneath. I see him looking at my body as the gown didn’t conceal much , sparks of electricity jolts through my body and I feel my body become warm under his scrutiny . I feel desired at that moment and he moves closer to me till our bodies were touching . As he moves to touch me , his eyes sparkle with gold tint so bright I could swear that his eyes changed colors, he turns away from me all of a sudden and head back to where he came from without a single word .

Wait what just happened! I stand there trying to comprehend what just happened, since he didn’t turn back and try to explain what happened, I head back to my room confuse and angry . Angry at myself , angry at him , angry at my mom but I don’t know why I am angry , I only feel a burning rage , a consuming fire burning inside of me.

As I lay on the bed , I realize that there are a lot of questions surrounding this place and as I finally doze off , I remember that my mom once mentioned this town when I was 13 but I can’t remember what she said about it .
