CHAPTER 27 Wilson walked up to them as they danced, interrupting. “Sorry to cut in. Can we talk?” Jason looked down at Alyssa afraid to leave her but nodded as he could see the urgency of it in Wilson’s eyes. “Wilson you remember Alyssa right?” he introduced. Wilson bowed. “Yes, a pleasure to meet you again.” He looked back to Jason. “Let’s talk somewhere quieter. I won’t steal him for long.” Alyssa nodded as Jason and Wilson walked off. She went to the bar and ordered a drink while she waited.
“Oh, so you’re back.” She turned to see Melissa. Her fists went on full alert as she stood at the bar table.
“No need to get hostile, I come in peace.”
Alyssa still didn’t calm down. “I get it, I was rude to you before and I apologize.” Alyssa backed away shocked. “I don’t think you mean that, but thank you. You can leave now.” She replied, taking a sip of her drink.
Melissa laughed. “You are so funny, but I’m not going anywhere. You and I aren’t that different. We want the same things for Jason. We both love him and want what’s best for him. We both have hurt him.”
Alyssa couldn’t answer. The part of her already feeling bad about not accepting him back sooner was hurt by her words. “I will try to be nicer to you because I see that Jason is serious about you. Plus you will be around a lot more.” Melissa tried to laugh. Alyssa wasn’t laughing, still not trusting the woman. “I hope you have a good time.” Alyssa watched Melissa walk over to Dan. The scene was rather weird as she tried to walk away from Dan, but Dan grabbed her arm jerking her back to him forcefully.
Alyssa watched them talk for a while until someone walked behind her scaring her. “Having fun?” She jumped turning to Valerie. She grabbed her chest, trying to calm her heart. “Being nosy like me?” Alyssa chuckled as Valerie eyeballed the scene between Dan and Melissa. “Those bastards are up to something.” She continued. Alyssa agreed.
“What’s going on Wilson?” Jason asked once they walked into the conference room. “I saw Janet walk away with Harold Jones of all f*****g people. Does she know about the plan? She can’t get him to invest.” Jason held his hands up. “Dan already beat you to it, Wilson, it’s over.”
“What the f**k do you mean it’s over?”
“Dan walked in earlier before the party and caught on that you invited Harold. He’s blackmailing Janet to get the investor or he will release a s*x tape of hers.” Wilson held his head in defeat. “f**k f**k f**k, Dan!” Jason held his shoulders. “I believe Janet has a plan to stopping Dan. She just has to play along for now until then.” Wilson took a seat. “I can’t f*****g believe he would do something like this.”
Jason wasn’t surprised. “You haven’t been around him long then. Janet has to do what has to be done for now, but in the end, Dan will never win. Let’s get back to the party. I’m afraid of leaving Alyssa alone with him.” Wilson grabbed Jason’s arm. “I feel as if I failed both of you. I promised your mother that I would protect you both from harm.” Jason sighed, hearing the break down in Wilson’s voice. “We will be fine. Trust me.” Jason hit his arm and opened the door to walk out of the room to find Alyssa. Instead of finding her, he found Dan and Melissa arguing on the other side of the conference room.
Alyssa walked up to him with Valerie. “Something isn’t right about them Jason,” Valerie noted, folding her arms. “Are they still having s*x together?”
Jason winced. “How did you know that?”
Valerie rolled her eyes. “It isn’t very hard to see that. Look at them clearly, they are f*****g. The s**t is disgusting if you ask me.” Alyssa had to agree that she didn’t like Melissa even more now. How could she claim to care and love Jason so much and be sleeping with his father? That s**t wasn’t natural. Jason grabbed Alyssa’s hand with a smile. “I don’t care about them. Let’s finish enjoying the party.” He said as they walked back in.
Melissa tried desperately to get away from Dan’s clutches. “I have to tell him, Dan. Why are you stopping me? Jason must know.” Dan grabbed her arm again to keep her from moving away from him. “Jason can never know of this Melissa. If you tell him I swear I will make your life a living hell, and the baby.” Melissa pressed herself against the wall in shame. “It was a mistake…” she said, hugging herself.
“To think you are capable of loving anyone. You’re a monster. Jason is nothing like you and never will be.” She screamed, just to be hit by Dan’s backhand sending her flying to the floor. “I told you before what you were getting into. Don’t act innocent now that you are in love with my son. You are just as f****d up as I am and incapable of love. That is what drew you to me. I never asked to be your f**k buddy.” Dan turned, looking around as his fixed his clothes to see Wilson on the other side staring at him through the glass of the conference room.
Without any worry, Dan walked back to the party just as calm as ever. Dan went to check on the investor’s poll to invest in the new building and they all said yes. Even Harold Jones. An evil smile crept on his face. “I don’t see how you sleep at night.” Dan glanced over to Wilson. “It’s quite simple when you lose all f***s,” Dan replied with a laugh. “That’s what the kids are saying nowadays. No f***s given, especially for a w***e like Melissa.”
“She was with your son and you went right behind him like a w***e yourself. You didn’t have to. And what you did to Janet…”
“You mean my daughter?” Wilson’s mouth twitched. “They will never love you when you treat them like s**t. You care about no one but yourself. It’s your own fault they hate you.” Dan turned around in rage then. “It’s your fault and you are way too cowardly to tell them because you want to be their father or some shit.” Dan bumped into Wilson as he walked away to find the kids.
Jason was laughing and dancing, enjoying himself with Alyssa when Janet walked up scrubbing her arms. “It’s done.” She said, sitting beside them and taking a shot. “s**t Janet.” Jason wrapped his arms around her as her legs shook from disgust. She took another shot to calm her nerves. “Dan is extremely f****d when I pay him back for this shit.” Alyssa went to comfort her as well. “You can’t allow him to get away with doing this to you. It’s sick.” She replied, grabbing her hand.
“Can you go get me another shot, please? I need to relax.” Jason nodded, walking off to the bar and leaving the two women he cared for most in the world alone. “I understand why Jason is the way he is now. To use your body for evil purposes is taking a toll on him. He wants to quit. I think he should. Now that he has you he should stop this and go have a family with a nice house and backyard. I want to be an auntie.” She squeezed Alyssa’s hand with soft laughter.
“I will fight this with Dan. I might not like it now, but I will learn to use this to my advantage. I always find a way to turn any situation.” Alyssa smiled at the woman’s courage and determination. Jason walked back with a bottle and some glasses. “He is on the way.” Janet knew exactly what he was talking about as he stood protectively in front Alyssa. Dan walked over clapping. “Bravo Janet. I’ve never been more proud.” Janet spit her drink out on him. “You can go to hell.”
Jason held his sister back as well. Dan wiped his face while laughing. “You remind me so much of your mother.” He replied. “I just came to tell you congrats. Despite the setback poison Wilson placed here to stop this achievement, just like Sanders men and women we fight through the odds of it all.” He raised his glass and took a sip.
“Also don’t forget about the Christmas dinner next weekend. I expect my children to be present to celebrate the day your mother always loved together. Hm?” He raised his eyebrows looking at both of them, but neither answered him. Dan nodded in the silence. “It’s fine. I will see you guys next weekend. Enjoy the rest of the party.” He walked off leaving deadly stares behind his back.
