CHAPTER 20
“Miss Sampson, I hope I’m not intruding.” He bowed low trying to be courteous but coming off extra creepy. “I’m Dan Sanders.” He held his hand out for her to grab, but Alyssa refused to touch him. “Leave Mr. Sanders. I’m not sure why you’re here.” Her lip trembled, but she wouldn’t give in to his scary act. Dan only smiled. “I see why my son is smitten by you. You’re feisty like his mother.” Alyssa looked away from him as he began undressing her with his eyes.
“I’m sorry, why are you here?” Dan focused his eyes on hers instead of trying to see beyond the door to her body. “I’ve come to warn you about dating my son. Can I come in?” Alyssa shook her head. “No.” Dan laughed, pressing open the door pushing her away from it. “What the hell get out of my house before I…” Dan grabbed Alyssa’s wrists as she tried to fight him, pressing her against the wall. “You can’t overpower me, Alyssa. So just give up.”
He kicked the door closed with his foot. She still tried to move and kick him, but nothing worked. “If you care about my son, you would stop this foolish act of trying to overpower me.”
“You should care about your own son, you asshole.” She pressed against him again, but this time he hit her against the wall hard. The breath almost left her body. Dan gave a wicked smile as he pressed closer to her, whispering in her ears. “You need to leave my son alone if you know what’s good for you. This is a warning. I won’t warn you again.” He pinched her cheeks. “You are so cute.” She jerked away as he tried to kiss her.
“Why am I such a threat to you? Why can’t you let Jason be happy?” She wanted to punch the man in his throat for how he was treating his own son. “Happiness is myth Miss Sampson. Jason hasn’t learned this yet, but he will.” He folded his arms as he let her stay against the wall. “I assume he has told you about his curse?” Alyssa remained quiet, not sure what to say to not give Jason away or get him in trouble.
“Then you know he only wants you around because you are the only person who can make him c*m? Quite a shame really, because you are so much more than his s*x doll.” Her heart heeded those words she had feared all of this time. “And I assume you know my son is under investigation for the disappearance of Abagail Hawthorne.”
“I know. Jason didn’t do anything.” She took up for the man she hoped wasn’t playing her. Dan laughed softly. “That’s very noble of you, but my son is no saint, Miss Sampson.” Her mind was already warning her of that. “I won’t leave Jason so you can just leave now and save yourself some time.” She said boldly walking towards the door. Dan gave another chuckle, walking out as she commanded. “I hope Jason has been completely honest with you about the type of man he is before you fall in love with a man with a black soul.” Was his last words while he walked out.
Alyssa slammed the door behind him, throwing her back against the door and sliding down it with her knees up to her chest. She had never been so terrified and angry. Her hands were shaking as she held them up to her face. Her breathing came in short gasps from the fear. Dan Sanders was truly an evil man like Jason had described to her. Now she witnessed it for herself and couldn’t imagine living with the man for twenty-eight years. Where the hell was, Jason? He was the only thing she thought about then.
Jason walked to his car the moment Alyssa texted him she had arrived home. He walked through the parking lot, going to the parking garage to his car. He looked down at his phone to text Alyssa back until someone hit him over the head, knocking him to a car. “f**k!” he turned quickly to stop the attacker from hitting him anymore. “Don’t f*****g move you son of a bitch.”
Jason’s mouth twitched with anger. “Where the f**k is Tracy?” The attacker’s fists hit Jason in his jaw trying to do more damage, but Jason’s face only turned slightly in the direction he hit him towards. “I’m assuming you must be Jake.” He replied, wiping his mouth. Jake went into his pants and pulled out a pistol. Jason held his hands up instantly. His face never showed any signs of fear. “I know Tracy came to you today, where is she?” Jake asked again his voice breaking.
“Tracy left hours ago. Her appointment was only an hour and that was at 7:30 a.m. I’m sorry Jake, but she isn’t here.” Jake wiped his eyes as his voice began to break. “This is your fault! She would’ve never left me if it had not been for you.”
“Jake…” Jason took a step closer, but Jake started pointing the gun with more accuracy aiming towards Jason’s chest. “Don’t you f*****g come any closer!” Jason agreed, stopping in his tracks. “Ok. Let’s calm down and talk this out like men. Put the gun down.” He tried to speak as sensibly as possible, but Jake wasn’t buying it. “We’re in the parking garage in broad daylight. Think Jake. You think Tracy will take you back now?” Jake sniffed, wiping his eyes again. “I f*****g loved her man. I would do anything for her. Until you came along and f****d up my whole life. Now I will f**k up yours.”
“Jake you cheated on her first,” Jason replied, trying to talk some sense into the man. His reasoning made no sense at all, but Jason could tell he was one of those ‘have my cake and eat it too’ guys that he came across a lot in his line of work. It was ok for them to cheat, but once the shoe was on the other foot, they were pissed. As if the day couldn’t get any worse, Jake chose today of all days to stop him. His heart raced to get to Alyssa, not even worried about this guy with the gun, but his father alone in the room with his woman.
“I can’t believe she told you that!” Jake began to become hysterical again. “That was one time and I did it for her! She didn’t know how much I loved her. I needed that job!” Jake broke down into a sob as he held his stomach with one hand and still pointing the gun at Jason with the other. “Listen, man, just go find her. She’s not here. She left hours ago. I don’t know where she went.”
“Why not? She tells you everything else.” Jake c****d the gun back ready to fire. “Jake I’m really trying to reason with you here, but you’re making it very complicated.”
“f**k you! You are the home wrecker, not me. I love her and you don’t. She needs to know that. You don’t give a s**t about her at all. Not like I do.” Jason nodded. “You’re right. You should go tell her that. I can’t help you.” Jake laughed at Jason’s response. “No one can help you, Jason Sanders. You sick f**k!”
“Jake…”
“Shut the f**k up! How would you like it I sexed the woman you love really good and slow like? Make her say my name while you f*****g watched!” That pissed Jason off. The sheer thought of anyone having s*x with Alyssa made him angry. “If this is what you want then do it, Jake. You either shoot me or get the f**k out of my way because I have somewhere to be!” Jason yelled, not playing the nice guy anymore as the whole thing was irritating him.
A gunshot went off and Jason hurried to action as he knocked the gun from Jake’s hand. “Jason, you alright?” Frank came to his rescue thankfully, shooting in the air and distracting Jake enough. Jason punched Jake in his mouth as payback, hitting him hard enough to put him to sleep.
“Damn Jason, you knocked him out. Where did you learn to do that?” Frank asked, picking Jake up, placing handcuffs on him. “You will be surprised the things Dan put me through.” He replied. “Can you take care of him? I really have to go.” Jason took off running to his car, leaving Frank and Jake in the parking lot.
Jason banged on Alyssa’s door until she opened. He smiled but looking at her expression his smile soon went away. “f**k I’m too late aren’t I?” He already knew his father had already put a stamp on the place. As he walked in, the smell of his cologne filled his nose, always strong, he would know it anywhere. His mouth twitched with anger as he wanted to hurt the man like never before.
“I’m sorry Alyssa. I tried…” He turned to her as she sat against the wall with her knees up against her chest again with tears falling down her eyes. Jason squatted down, touching her knee. “Baby what did he do to you?” His face looked mortified as hers did as she looked up at him. She gave in wrapping her arms around his neck and moving her knees out of the way. “Where were you?” she cried. Her sobbing loudly on his shoulder made his heartbreak. “I’m sorry, just tell me what he did.”
His fists clenched as he grabbed her shirt on her back. She winced at the pain of him touching her where she was sore. He gently lifted her shirt to reveal a large bruise where Dan had pressed her against the wall. He held her close, unable to speak as the anger rose to extreme levels. “Why didn’t you answer your phone I called you a million times.” Jason reached into his pocket for his phone, but nothing was there.
“Fuck.” He remembered Jake’s sneak attack caused his phone to go under someone’s car in the garage. He held his head, releasing Alyssa hitting the wall. “f**k them both!” Alyssa jumped as he continued to beat her wall. “Jason stop!” Alyssa yelled, trying to control his rage. “I’m fine. He didn’t hurt me like you think.” Because she thought he believed he had raped her. He didn’t thank god, but that still didn’t calm him down.
“Jake pulled a gun out on me today looking for Tracy. That’s why I got held up. I wouldn’t be surprised if Dan paid him to stop me from getting to you.” He grabbed her cheeks pulling her close. “I’m so sorry. Everything is so f****d up right now…I tired…” She leaned up and kissed him, needing the connection for both of them. “He wants me to leave you alone.” She whispered once they pulled away. He laid his forehead against hers. “Maybe you should.” She backed away, hurt by his words. “Why would you?”
“Look at all the s**t that’s happening because of me, because of what I do, because of who I am! I am cursed Alyssa, f*****g cursed! I was foolish to think I can fall in love with someone. This curse will never allow me to love you, Alyssa. I can’t keep putting you in danger.” More tears fell down her face. “Abagail and now Tracy. I can’t risk you.”
“Then your father was right then.” She murmured. Jason looked confused. “What? What did he say?” She backed away from him. “That you only wanted me so you can nut. That’s true isn’t it?” Jason walked closer to her but then paused at the hurt look on her face. “No. That’s not true.”
“But if I never made you c*m I would be just like Tracy or Melissa…” She spat her name as if it disgusted her. “Or Abagail and god know who else. You would never be this close to me.” Jason sighed knowing some of that was true, but it wasn’t the reason why he stayed. “It may have started out that way, but I really do like you Alyssa. Hell, I’m falling for you. Not just because you can make me c*m. Yes, I was more interested in you than other females because of that, but it’s not the only reason why…” She walked to the door too upset to even argue back.
“Just leave.” He tried to grab her hands, but she snatched away. “You want a s*x toy, that’s all.” She pushed him out the door. “Just leave!” She screamed. Jason stared into her eyes one last time before he walked out. His heart was breaking into a thousand places.
