"Saturno..." "Hearing that name, some people will think of the magnificent ringed planet. That beautiful planet on 6th place in the solar system..." "But not for us. For us....hearing that name only means doom." __5:40 AM__ "Kurayami! You're going to be late for your first day of school, honey!" My mother shouted from downstairs "I-I'm coming!" I replied shakily, putting my book of myths into my backpack and putting it on. I ran down the stairs, giving my mother a kiss on the cheek and grabbing a piece of toast from the plate she had on her hands. "Thanks for the meal, Ma! Wish me luck, I love you!" I said hurriedly and ran out the door towards the train station. How could I have fallen asleep!? I've been waiting for today ever since I was accepted into this Academy. 'I mean, it's not every day that you get accepted into one of the most prestigious and secret academies in your country, is it?' After 10 minutes I arrived at the station and was able to get on the train on time. Phew! I had to be standing. What a pain in my back rear... 'Seriously, there should be more seats on these things!' Then I noticed a girl standing nearby as well. She was wearing the same school uniform as me... Curious. 'Maybe she's a classmate? I have no idea. But I don't really want to find out right now.' Finally arriving at the last station, I got off and walked to the school and... Wow! It was huge. It had a really cool structure and you could tell it was old but beautiful. And luxurious too. When I walked in and got to the reception desk I met a woman. Brown hair, lighter brown eyes. I guess she was some kind of teacher? "Oh, hello there! You must be one of the new students, right? I'm Miss Lumine." The woman said in a kind tone. 'Lumine, huh?' "I'm part of the staff here and I will be your guide through the Academy in your first days." She mentioned. Ah, so she's a guide. Well, it's almost the same as a teacher only...more of a walker "Oh, um...o-okay." I replied in a quiet and shy tone. Uhg, I really hated not being able to express myself well without feeling embarrassed Miss Lumine took me around the place, showing me almost everything. The building really was something fantastic. There was everything! Dining room, dorms, libraries, game room, swimming pools, gyms, even a dang park yard! It was every student's dream! Even mine! "Finally, there is your classroom. And this is where the tour ends." Lumine suddenly said as she stopped in front of a classroom 'What? It's over? So fast? I guess I didn't count my time because I was looking at everything. That's going to be awkward-' Lumine led me into the classroom. It was a very large and rather cool room, it looked great. There were already a few students there. I could feel their gazes on me. Embarrassed Time For Yami, Yay! She sat me down at a desk, in the middle column of desks. Well, at least it wasn't the front one, right? "Your teacher will be here soon. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call me." The kind guide said and then walked away. I just pulled a notebook out of my bag and started writing more notes. About what? Random ones, I think. I like writing for the sake of it, it keeps my mind clear from other stuff. "Hey! New kid! How's it going?" I could hear a voice next to me. When I looked up I could see a boy, who had pulled his chair over to me and sat there. He had bright green eyes, and long black hair which was tied on a ponytail. He seemed....uh...nice? "Can I...help you?" I replied, not knowing what to say. I was not a sociable person or one of many words. "Haha, what? Just wanted to get to know you. We're going to be classmates for a good long time, after all." The boy replied with a smirk. I glanced away before looking at him again. "O-Oh, um...I see." Seriously, was that the only coherent thing I could say? I suck at socializing, for real- "Anyway. I'm Jun Kogari, but you can just call me Koga." The boy mentioned and extended his hand towards me for a shake "..." "Kurayami...I'm Kurayami Kanzen." I replied softly and timidly, hesitantly shaking his hand. "Well, Kurayami. We're friends now! So, get ready to have someone pesterin' you ass 24/7 from now on!" Kogari said and laughed a little. I, in fact, smiled a little at what he said. Friends? That didn't sound so bad. And, for some reason, I felt... happy. 'So that's what it's like to make a friend? I guess it's not as bad as the legends I've read...' 'Maybe...maybe I can give it a try. I wouldn't be losing anything if I did anyway.' Then the professor entered the classroom and leaned back from his desk. He was a tall man, dressed formally but somewhat loosely, his hair was black and slightly messy and his eyes were a dark brown. "Okay, class. Sorry for being late, huh. Things happen." The teacher said in a chill, friendly tone. I was starting to like him more then my average scolder teacher. "Let me introduce myself, I'm Mr. Luminance and I'll be your Literature teacher. Well, at least until the principal decides to get rid of me, of course." The man said and chuckled before clearing his throat and clapping his hands together. "First of all, I want us all to be comfortable and get to know each other. We'll be together in and out of classes for quite a while, and I wouldn't want to see any feuds or anything like that around. Got it??" Luminance said, most of us nodding at his words. He then smiled and sat down at the desk. "By the way, Director Len gave me the honor of informing everyone with whom they would be sharing a room. Because yes, these are shared rooms between 3. And the girls' dormitories are also separated from the boys' dormitories-" When he said that, several of the students groaned in annoyance. That only caused a chuckle from Luminance. "I know it's annoying. I thought that way too when I was your age. It was a pain in the ass." Luminance said and rolled his eyes before sighing and smiling again "Anyway, would you like to know who your roommates will be?" When he mentioned that, several students exclaimed yes'. I did too....mentally "Okay, okay. I'll start in the order of the list." Luminance started naming everyone one by one and who their roommates were. But I wasn't paying attention, I was lost in my own thoughts. 'What if I have to be with two weirdos? Or two cold guys? Or worse, bullies!? I'll be dead if that happens. Oh, no, I'd be a dead man. Not even my shadows would save me from such a fate. What if I don't get along with them? How'd I be supposed to fight back, then!?'
