Sleep would not come. Mindy Haynes lay on top of the blankets and stared at the ceiling while city lights slid across it in pale lines. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw Ken Hawkins standing in that room, calm as stone, handing her truths that shattered everything she thought she knew. A woman with her face.
