Jean POV: I decided to go and talk to Drata, I realize I’m being unreasonable and mean for no reason I’m stuck in this relationship, and I have no choice to but continue with it. Plus, the fact that my father said that if I don’t go through with the marriage, my father will either disown me or kick me out to fend for myself and in my world fending for myself my not be the best idea because it would leave me vulnerable and open to men, animals, or any known beast anywhere, so if it’s a choice between getting my ass stuck in a brothel, being the slave to some sick twisted bastard or marrying a rich and honestly handsome dragon and barring him a child, then I’m choosing the dragon what choice do I have?
After I left the field with Carson, he invited me to have afternoon tea with him in a nearby tea house to discuss our relationship most likely I swear I don’t know what to do with this guy. After a long walk through the fields, we finally made it into town and as usual we were met with nothing but stares of either envy or anger which is honestly nothing new whenever he and I walk together just next to each other I can not imagine how much worse it would be if he and I were holding hands. I hate to say it but I don’t see Carson as my future husband he and I have always been good friends since we were children, when I was a little girl I was constantly picked on by other girls who were jealous of my pretty silver hair and sky blue eyes, then my mother introduced me to Carson who has been nothing but good to me I tell him all the time we can not be together but he never listens to me. I don’t like to give him any kind of hope of us every being together like that even when we were children, I couldn’t ever think of him as a husband for me always as the brother I never had, as Carson and I made our way into the tea house men couldn’t stop staring at me so I asked the hostess if she could seat us as far from the men staring as possible to hopefully avoid confrontation. Thankfully she agreed and sat us on one of the private balconies where they couldn’t see us or hear anything we said to each other, when we got to order our tea, I ordered my favorite tea “Can we have a pot of peach passionfruit tea please? Oh, and some nice, marbled cake too” I asked her as sweetly as possible with a smile, I saw her blush a little and smile then quickly run to get our tea and cakes. I decided to tell Carson what I’m going to do but thought it best to wait till our tea came. After about 5 minutes our tea came piping hot and some delicious, marbled cake with the tea houses signature cinnamon icing on top now I think is the best time to tell him of my plans after the waitress left, I had taken a deep breath and began to speak, “Carson? I have decided to just go through with the marriage to Drata” Carson looked at me with anger in his eyes “Jean, I don’t think that’s wise sure Dynia is a good option for you. Now I think that maybe I would be a far better choice don’t you…” Carson stopped talking when he looked up at me,” Carson you know better than I do that your father will never allow a part blood to be your spouse I told you time and time again you need to reconsider a pure elf, its for your own good.” I said as I began to look towards the sunset “Jean you don’t know that he might let me marry you if he knew of what was happening, I’m sure I’d be able to reason with him!” Carson said with passion “Yes and by the time he finally sees reason I’ll be an old woman or already married to Drata. Please stop this Carson I’ve made up my mind” I said Carson knew he wouldn’t be able to win with me seeing how I can be more stubborn than a donkey when I don’t get my way.
After a while he and I finished our tea and cakes, on our way out to pay for our tea and cakes those same men were still here almost as though they were waiting for us. I didn’t need to look to know that they were staring at us I could feel their eyes on me almost like they were undressing me when Carson noticed that I was looking rather strangely then began to look around the room after a few seconds he found who was making me feel uncomfortable, he took off his cloak and put it around me with the hood up then he placed his arm around my shoulder and we walked out.
After some time passed, we were close to my family estate when we heard something behind us, we looked and didn’t see anyone after a while we turned toward my family estate, and I could hear a horse or rather multiple horses rapidly running toward us but not from behind us but in front of us. As the first horse stopped, I couldn’t see who it was “Stop there! Who are you?” I asked with anticipation, “it is I Zira!” Zira my personal bodyguard said as she removed her hood reviling her beautiful face and chocolate hair with dazzling gray eyes. Carson and I both heaved a sigh of relief as Zira asked three of my family knights to escort Carson back home, she put me atop her horse and we made our way toward my family estate once more, before we reached the front gate “Zira I need to see my future betrothed, can you take me to him? its important and I swear I’ll be right back out once I’m done speaking to him” I asked with my heart in my throat, “alright milady if that is what you wish then we shall go now”.
After riding for over forty-five minutes, we finally made it to Dynia castle. The castle itself was stunning carved out of the mountainside almost to the very tip of the mountain. “Who goes there!?” guard one “Lady Jeanette Orian!” I said as I and Zira emerged from the darkness, both guards bow “I’d like to speak with Drata Dynia please?” I said and they both looked at one another then raised the gates to let my guard and I inside but not before saying “milady your guard will have to stay in the foyer while one of the maids escort you to master Drata, I’m very sorry if this is an issue but this is the rules of Castle.” Guard one said while looking at the ground. “Zira do you mind waiting in the foyer while I go to see Drata?” I asked Zira with some concern for her wellbeing, “I’ll be fine Lady Jean, I’ll let your fathers guard know of what’s happening so your father shall not worry” she said while giving me a bow “thank you Zira!” I said, while Zira was taken to a room nearest to the foyer a maid came to take me to Drata’s chambers, as we made our way to his chambers I noticed a beautiful young woman with stunning red hair with black eyes, I noticed while I was looking at her, she began to stare daggers at me. I wonder why? I don’t know her at all maybe I should ask Drata about her while I’m here then again it could just wait until next time. When we finally made it to his chambers the maid bowed to me and left me in his hallway, I knocked on his door and after a slight pause I heard “who’s there?” Drata said “It’s Jean I’d like to speak with you if you don’t mind?” I said after a minute I heard the door unlock and then Drata came into view but what I didn’t expect was him to be in nothing but a towel while dripping wet.
I honestly couldn’t help but stare at his beautifully muscular body then my eyes seemed to wonder toward the towel, and I could see his imprint and it looked to be quite large. I couldn’t help but look away and blush. “Everything alright?” Drata asked with a concerned look on his face, I never seen him make that face before it was truly mesmerizing. “Uhm!” Drata cleared his throat “would you like to come in? don’t worry I’ll put on some pants” Drata said I nodded and came inside “have a seat I’ll be right back out” he said while going inside his closet. My heart kept racing because I had forgotten how handsome he was since the last time I saw him; he came out with pajama pants on and a v neck t-shirt. He sat on same couch as me and asked me “what brings you here at this time of night?” he said with a plain face while looking at me. I cleared my throat “I thought I should tell you in person that I apologize for my behavior towards you and I realized that I’m being a little unreasonable because of my own family issues for that you have my sincerest apologies” I said while looking him in the eyes, he looked as though he was in deep thought “I suppose I should apologize as well for the day we met I was quite rude to you, I know this is no excuse but I was already in a foul mood from problems here fortunately not with family but more like some idiotic woman who wont take no for an answer” he said I began to think about that young woman from the foyer. “I would like to ask you something if you don’t mind Jeanette?” he said with a smile, I swear my heart stopped when he did that “Wha, what is it?” I asked when I began to get a little flustered and began to blush again “would you like to go on a date in two days? I would make it tomorrow night, but I have some unfinished business with my family to take care of is that alright?” he asked me with pleading eyes that I can not bring myself to say no to “Yes, I’ll go on a date with you” I said with a happy smile I have to say I never thought I could smile like this with anyone other than Carson. When I looked at the time I got up in shock it was nearing ten o’clock “oh its getting let I didn’t realize it was this late already I must go home before my father worries” I said with sadness in my voice, not realizing tears were forming because I was having a good time with him before I knew it I was in his embrace and he smelt wonderful I quietly took a deep breath and tried to memorize his smell. “I’ll see you in two days Jean, don’t cry, ok?” he said, and he walked my back to the foyer to my guard “I’ll see you in two days Drata” I said with a smile and waved goodbye. Zira and I had to ride fast and hard to make sure we made it back home quicker, luckily there weren’t any trouble along the way this time and we made it home within twenty minutes my father and grandfather checked on me before I called it a night. As I made my way up the stairs, I couldn’t help but think about Drata’s smile and his wonderful scent, after my bath I readied for bed.
The next morning, I awoke and found a necklace box on top of my pillow with a note attached.
