CHAPTER THREE

Next day

Bree could not sleep the whole night. It is very difficult for her to concentrate on preparing for the meeting. She was thinking about William the whole night. 

“Bree…Bree…” Olivia called her

“Ah yeah… sorry I couldn't sleep last night”  Bree answered

“Something happened?”

“Yes!!! Ah No… I mean No!”

“Okay… Should I help you with this presentation?”

“No. I am okay”

Brakkkk!!!! Clark entered the room, banging the door

“Breee!!!!!”

“Clark… what happens?” Olivia looks confused

“Ask this stup*d girl!!!” Clark gets angry

Bree stood up and moved toward clark.

“Sorry Clark. Something urgent came, so I should come back to town”

“But why did you send the resignation letter??? You can come back to main office if you want”

“Sorry”

“Wait.. wait… Bree…” Olivia looks really confused.

Bree looked at her and nodded her head.

“Did we do wrong to you  Bree?”

“No Clark!”

“Do you feel uncomfortable with us?” Olivia added

“No!!!” Bree quickly replied

“So why?” Olivia asked Bree

“As I said before, there is something I need to take care of”

“Ok, I will reject your letter and will move you to the main office. So you can get close to your family”

“No Clark… please help me”

Suddenly the room becomes so silent. 

“Okay let’s go upstairs. William must be waiting for us” Olivia broke the silence.

Bree took her employee card and followed Olivia and Clark.

You can tell me if you need someone to listen.

Bree received a text message from Olivia. She smiled. She knows behind Olivia’s cold gestures, she actually cares.

Bree’s part

I know Clark would be angry if I told him that I will leave the company. 

I am confused about William, is he having multiple personalities? I mean he is cruel sometimes, but he also sometimes becomes so sweet and warm when he holds me. Ah! Perhaps that’s the nature of men, they would be so nice if it comes to their desire. Oh sh**t.

I walk following Olivia and Clark. I have not seen any smile from Clark. He must be really disappointed with my decision.

“I already prepared to present my part” I started to open the conversation when we entered the lift. The same VIP lift I used to go to William’s office.

“I will do my best” I added, because they are still silent.

“Such a waste!” Clark replied

“Clark...” Olivia tried to calm him.

“Sorry” I feel really bad.

“Bree! At least give me the reason, something that at least I can approve of.”

“I can not tell the reason”

“That’s why I said that you were wasting your time preparing for this meeting”

We arrived at William's office. I saw four security guards in front of his office, but our meeting is next to room. 

Suddenly one of security guard says “Yes sir, Mr. William is already in the meeting room”

I was a little bit shocked and confused, who was asking about it? 

“Thanks! Please be careful next time!” Carl quickly responded.

I was a little bit shocked. No one was asking about William nor talking about him, but suddenly the security told Clark about William.

“It’s okay Bree. They telepathy” Olivia whispered at me and then smiled.

“Ah okay” I whisper back to her.

Both of us were smiling for our dumb mind. Haha

We entered the meeting room. My eyes directly saw the man who kissed me last night. I bite my lips watching him holding a glass of water while talking to board members. He sipped a bit and saw me. He coughed.

Oh Goddess! He is so cute. It seems inside my heart I am fighting with the realities. I was scared of him but liked him at the same time yesterday. 

We sat down and the meeting started. I couldn't look at him when he gave some opening in the meeting. Ufff! He is also so intelligent! His heavy and husky voice kept lingering on my head. Sometimes he smiled. His hand gesture looked so perfect. He was hypnotizing us.

Then it comes to our turn. Olivia opened the presentation and Clark continued explaining everything. 

Some of the members were asking questions.

“Bree… could you please help your team to answer?” William suddenly was mentioning my name.

Olivia and Clark were shocked. But then Olivia smiled.

“Ah yes Sir!” I started to explain everything. I swear that I was so nervous. The way William was looking at me. Sometimes He also smiled while listening to my explanation. At the end William clapped his hand after we finished our presentation.

Clark’s face looked red with anger. I know my presentation was not as great as he expected.

William’s part

I was a little bit nervous this morning. I could not believe I will meet Bree again. She will be there for the meeting with Clark. How if my inner spirit wakes up during their presentation.

They are late. People are getting disappointed in the room. Usually I would be the last one entering the room, since today there were some shareholders in the meeting, so I entered the room earlier to say hi to them.

I was talking to Claire when Bree entered the room. Claire, the daughter of senior beta in our pack. We talked about the future of the company. I could feel she was also doubtful about her husband's performance. I was trying to calm her. She is a very smart female wolf. I know she was marked with Clark without love. Everything was based on tradition. Well, I start to think that they both are unhappy living as mates. 

I was sipping water when Bree entered. Oh Goddess! She looked really tempting. Her black suits seemed to fit her body. 

Please do not appear for now! I ordered my inner spirit

See how gorgeous she is! I am never wrong!

I beg you to not disturb me this time.

Ah! I want to grab and kiss her!

Stop Stupid!

My inner spirit laughed at me and left me.

Clark’s team started to present their report. I looked at Bree several times. I didn't know what happened, but it seemed Clark did not allow Bree to say anything. Is it because she already informed him about her resignation? Well, that makes sense.

I really wanted to hear Bree saying something, so I asked her to help her team to answer some questions. She is awesome. I did not expect that she would be that great explaining everything. No wonder that Clark asked her to work on her team here in our satellite office. If I could, I would also want to keep her. But here most of us are wolves, I do not want her to get hurt or fall into any wolf; including me. 

What if I really want her?

Then tell her that you want her!

Please do not disturb me. I am in a good mood now!

My Inner spirit then laughed at me “See! You are in love with Bree!”

Honestly, Bree’s explanation is such a delicious appetizer. Perfect ones!

People are leaving the room.  I see Bree and Olivia are ready to leave their chair to go back to their office, except Clark. He sat down trying to check some emails. I know he is pretending to be busy. There must be something important he wanted to tell. He tried to link me.

William. Why did you not approve of my knock?

I smiled Let’s talk after no one here

Now there are only two of us in the room.

“Will, why are you trying to kick out my people?”

“Your people? Can you please be more specific?”

“Bree! It’s about Bree”

I knew he was going to ask about her, but I let him say clearly that he wants to fight for justice for my lovely Bree. It feels so good to know that people care about her.

“Ah, ya. What’s wrong?”

He stood up, “Why did you fire her?”

“She was actually fired two years ago, but I wonder why she is still here”

“Ah it’s because of the “kissing” on the winter party? Is it about your grudge?”

“Hahaha… yes it was, but for now the reason is different”

“You can laugh. It was very difficult to persuade her to move here, Will. Now you want to kick her. She is here for just a week!”

“Clark. You really did not know what was going on”

“Now, explain to me! I am so disappointed by your childish action”

“Ok. To sum up, I just do not want to repeat your story”

“What?”

“The story between you and Olivia”

Clark suddenly froze. I knew he did not know what to say. 

“I know what is going on, Clark. I just do not want to disturb your personal matter” I added

“Does Claire know?”

“It seems she doesn't know, but she is suspicious about Olivia”

“I am afraid something will happen to Olivia”

“That’s the bad of you Clark. Claire is your mate, but who is Olivia?”

“Will… please”

“Okay. I do not want to continue my thoughts about three of you, but please be responsible for everything with you decide"

“I hate this MATE theory, rules and stupid things related to it. We are in the modern era now. We are living with humans around us”

“I also hate that, Clark. That’s is why I am very aware with what is going on around me”

“So, Bree?” Clark started to get curious

“Yes Clark. I like Bree.”

“What?”

“My case is even worse. My parents are not be like your parents, but my situation is more difficult. I can't be with anyone I want because of the MATE theory, as you said. Ha ha” I smiled bitterly.

Clark now understands why I want to be away from Bree. I cannot mate with any random wolf, moreover Bree. She is human. As a Royal pack, of course we always say that everyone is free to choose because our era is changing. BUT practically we still cannot be as free as we want. Many Omega wolves marry humans, but for Alpha and Beta wolves the case is rare. Many cases in the past, when Alpha decided to choose humans as mates, they did not feel safe to stay in the pack. Many of them migrate to human land with their human mate.

I remember the story of Uncle Davis. He was my father's best friend.  He was curious to travel to human land. Well, the past was not like today's era. In the past we were not so close to humans as now. My father heard that he took off his throne as Alpha candidate in his pack because he fell in love with humans. Wolves in his pack were fighting each other due to his decision, gladly my grandfather helped them. Later most of them decided to be part of our Armies. 

Clark stood up. I know that he is confused with what happened. He is now also thinking about his own situation.

“We are Royal wolves, Clark. You and Claire are my cousins. I should be fair with both of you.”

“Why was it not you who married Claire, Will?” He suddenly teased me. I was glad to see that he could smile now.

“Because of the MATE theory” I smiled. Clark then laughed

“So Clark. You know why I never choose any new mate after my fated mate had died?. Yes, I do not want to see her as Claire. Clark, Claire is loyal to you although she is in doubt with you. She is just sometimes irritating hahaha”

We smiled. We really cannot blame this royal blood which flows through our veins. Claire is the daughter of my father’s sibling, and Clark is the son of my mother’s sibling. Both of their parents are the strongest Beta in the pack. We really respect them. If something happens with Clark and Claire, I really cannot imagine what will happen with our pack.

Suddenly Thomas tried to link me.

Will, I am outside of the meeting room. It seems you are talking seriously with someone

Ah, please come in. It is only Clark and me here

Thomas entered the room. 

“It’s okay Clark. You can stay here, so we can listen to Thomas' explanation about what happened two years ago. Please sit down Thom”

“Thanks” Thomas replied

“Okay. I am in a nice mood now. I will not be angry with you, but explain to me why Bree is still in our company?”

“She just lost her mom when it happened”

“What???” I got really shocked

“It seemed she had a difficult time. After she lost her mom she was also losing her mind. Actually I asked her to stay home instead of attending the party, but she did not know why she finally decided to attend”

“Ok tell me more about her”

I saw Thomas relax after I put all my focus on his explanation.

“She had a lot of debts, because of her mom's condition. It seemed her mom was mentally and physically ill.”

Stupid!!! I did not think that far. She must be so sad now. I thought my decision would have little impact on her.

“Please search information about her debt.”

“I cleared her debt,” suddenly Thomas added.

“What? Do you have feelings for her?” I did not realize that I showed my jealousy to Thomas.

“No, not like that Will”

“So?”

“She was nearly killed by my wife”

My eyes were wide open “What?”

“Her wife thought that Thomas’ mistress is her” Clark added the information

“What the h**l with you guys. Well, not only you… but me too. Why are we humans” I smiled bitterly. I saw Thomas was shocked.

“She is mine, Thom. The problem is classic. She is human, and I cannot be with her”

“So the reason you wanted to fire her is…”

“Yes!  I loved what she did to me two years ago. It was not because of getting embarrassed”

Thom and Clark were super shocked with what I just said.

“My fate had died. I never felt the spark with anyone after the traumatic event, except after I met Bree. My soul responded to her, even my inner spirit is really crazy to her until now” I laughed.

“How could a human have such a strong aura to attract wolves?” Clark suddenly got curious about her.

“The era is changing. We are now getting used to humans. I guess that is also the reason. Like both of you, why are you both crazy to humans?” I teased them.

“So what will we do, Will?” Clark asked

“How about moving her back to the city office?” Thomas gave his idea

“Well… not easy. I do not want anyone to harm her in the city office. Her name must be bad, due to your careless action Thom”

“Sorry, I was not aware”

“We are wolves. Our female wolves are so strong. Their patience cannot be compared to humans. They can do what they want.” I added

“How if you keep her close to you?” Clark suddenly gave crazy ideas.

“Clark is right, Will. Give her a position close to you, so your parents will not also get suspicious about your actions” Thomas suddenly shared the idea

“But I already fired her. Oh my Goddess, she will think I am an inconsistent person.”

“Come on Will! Put down your dignity if you want to keep her” Clark added

“Ah ya! Like you did to Olivia. That’s tricky!” Thomas teased Clark and laughed.

“Ok. Let’s make her my personal assistant. I will tell her by myself.”

“What?” Clark got shocked, but then he smiled “Will, I never saw you act this way before. Bree must be someone special for you”

I smiled at him.

Bree’s part

I felt better after we finished the presentation and left the meeting room. Williams seemed very different. He smiled several times and gave me claps, that’s weird. Sometimes he is so gentle, but sometimes he is so harsh.

“Are you okay Bree?” Olivia asked me. She never asked about my condition before, but now she opened the conversation with me.

“Yes. I am okay, Olivia. I am just little bit shocked because I just moved a week ago”

“Someone pushed you to leave the company?

“No no…”

“Share to me if you want”

“Well, yes. I made mistake, so I am fired”

“Who fired and asked you?”

“I cannot tell. I am sorry”

“Okay. No problem. Please let me know if you need help from me”

“Thanks Olivia”

“Okay let’s have lunch together”

“But Clark?”

“No, he has business now in the upper level”

“Okay let’s go”

We had our lunch together, and recalled some of our past experiences. I found out that she was actually living close to Aunt amelia’s old house. 

Suddenly Clark called me.

“Hallo Bree!”

“Yes, here. I am sorry Clark…”

“William asked you to go to his room”

“What?”

“Be quick, he is waiting for you on his office”

Oh! Why did he want to meet me? 

I told Olivia that I needed to go and let her know that  Clark was searching for her. I know she was a little blushing when I told her.

I quickly entered the VIP lift heading to meet William. I saw some security guards were in front of the room. They stopped me.

“That bast*rd William called me” I told them quickly.

They nearly grabbed my hand because of my words. I really could not handle my emotions. How could he say “please do not mix personal and professional matters… After he kissed me passionately last night!

“Let her in!”

I hear William’s voice from the small speaker on the door. I entered William’s room.

“Have you had lunch?” He started to ask me while signing some documents.

“Yes I had”

“I have not yet taken any lunch”

“Well, it is not my problem”

“I will make it your problem too then. Can I make you also take care of me?”

“What?”

He stood up from his chair and walked toward me. He held my shoulder.

“Bree!” He looked at my eyes

“Please do not mix personal and professional matters!” I imitated his words last night.

William suddenly laughed out loud. He did not lose his hand. 

He then pushed me and hugged me. It felt so good when my head was against his muscular chest. I wanted to feel it longer, please.

Oh! Bree! Wake up!

He then held my face. I knew what he was going to do. He kissed my lips. This one was so gentle. He closed his eyes and kept sucking my lips. 

Oh Goddess! This feels so good.

He stopped, “Bree! Please always be my side”

What the h*ll was he saying. I really cannot understand him. Sometimes he hates me, and sometimes he is full of love.
