I did not think about the warmth of his skin. Nor did I notice how the muscles on his back moved. And of course, it didn’t even occur to me how his hair smelled like shampoo and his neck smelled like perfume. When he finally let me down on the car seat, I made sure not to notice how close his face was to mine as he put on my seatbelt. Nope. Not at all.
