ALARA’S POV Listening to the sound of the river cascading, I felt a little warmth inside me. Kara stood next to me, watching over me while I played with the water. I would have wanted to swim and have a bath in the water, but as Queen, that would have been beneath me. And I was not willing to do anything that was going to make me lose the respect I had in the kingdom. That was if I still had any left. “This is so peaceful, Kara,” I said, turning to Kara who nodded with a smile as well. “I am glad you like it here, Luna Alara. The King used to love to come here most times, he spent most of his evenings here.” I thought about what Kara said, and even though I wanted to act like it didn’t matter, I didn’t think that I could get rid of the curious thought that ran through my mind.
