Darius wanted to make sure that we were alone before he could say anything.
“I am sure you are aware that Caelum plans to kill you.” He said calmly, but his voice was laced with so much worry.
“I can’t let him near you, Alara. You heard what Obed said, he has to kill you to make sure that his claim to the throne is permanent. I cannot use you as bait…”
“You won’t be using me as bait, Darius. I have decided to do this, and it seems like the only way. All we have to do is find out more from Obed. We need to know how they plan to attack me and who else they may be coming with…”
