Driving into the city, she reminisced on the night she and James had met just over a year ago. She was less known, just getting into modeling, brand new to the city and encouraged by her manager to rub some elbows at the fundraiser she was being forced to go to. She was glad she reluctantly did so. That was where she met him; James Wilson Johnson. Even being in his 40s, he was a beautiful man in her eyes; his auburn hair starting to pepper around his temples, the groomed stubble accenting his jawline, and his gorgeous lake-green eyes. She hadn’t known he was a doctor at the time, as he was dressed fairly casually for a charity fundraiser; a pair of jeans, a plain shirt underneath a charcoal-colored sports coat, and a pair of scuffed dress shoes. They had a light conversation. He was not interested in her initially, seeing how she was dressed in a very tight and revealing black cocktail dress. Tall scarpin heals that accentuated her artificially tanned calves, the slit in her dress nearly going all the way to her hip, and her bosom nearly jumping out of her dress towards him. However, as the night progressed, he noticed she was intelligent behind her makeup and outfit. He learned she aspired to finish her college degree and go on to law school one day.
It wasn’t until months later they met again by chance; her doctor falling ill, and Doctor Johnson filling in for his patients. He introduced himself before he met her gaze. They silently shared a moment of recognition, shocked that they had met once again, but in different circumstances. He learned her name was Cameron, only going by her shortened name, Cami, as a model. She was dressed much differently for her appointment than she was on the night of the fundraiser. She wore glasses, and hid her excellent body behind more baggy clothing. “To not draw attention to myself,” she explained when he asked her about her plain outfit. He thought it was ironic that someone so beautiful hated drawing attention to themselves, especially in her line of work. “It pays the bills,” she had rolled her eyes at him with a shy smile. By the end of her annual physical exam, he had asked to see her again. “Isn’t that a little unprofessional, Jimmie?” She eyed him coyly when saying that.
He had leaned casually against the exam table, closing the distance between them as he replied to her, “It would only be unprofessional if I were your regular GP.”
She had smirked at him, “I’d like you to be one of those…doctor.”
“Which one?” he chuckled, half smiling at her, amused.
She had leaned slightly forward on the exam table, her hand on his slightly loosened tie to pull him closer. “Unprofessional,” her voice was hushed as her lips made contact with his.
He was enthralled by her boldness, it took everything he had not to lay her down on the exam table. He had reluctantly pulled away from her, a little red in the face from her provocation, “Um, perhaps we should continue our…conversation…after work?” He hinted, trying to remain somewhat professional.
“I think I would like that very much.”
“Is your address current in your records?”
“My phone number is too. Don’t be afraid to give me a call after work when you’re on your way.”
He nodded slightly, “Wear something nice.”
“Something nice, or naughty?” She provoked, c*****g an eyebrow at him.
“Surprise me,” he dared, chuckling before disappearing behind the door to go back into the hallway.
Leaving Cameron in the exam room, the gears in her head turning, she knew the exact outfit she would be wearing that night. They had missed their reservation, forming an intimate bond in more ways than one that evening. The two have been inseparable ever since.
Cameron smiled slightly at the thought as she pulled into her parking spot, taking a deep breath before exiting her car, locking it behind her. "Good morning, Jordan," she greeted the receptionist.
Jordan looked up, smiling at the greeting, "Oh, good morning, Jason is in his office, waiting," she gave Cameron a knowing glance.
Cameron rolled her eyes. "Of course he is," she sighed, leaving the desk to go towards Jason's office. Jason was her producer, or boss, or whatever he was. Cameron was convinced the man was bipolar with his constant mood swings; you could be his favorite person one day, and may degrade you the next. She knocked cautiously at his door, waiting for his response to be allowed to enter.
"Cami," Jason greeted upon seeing her head peek inside the door, "my beautiful, shining star, how the hell are ya?"
He seemed to be charismatic at the moment, but Cameron knew not to trust him. "Just fine, Jase, what can I do for you? Jamie said you were waiting for me?"
Jason chuckled, "That I was, that I was," he leaned back in his chair casually.
After a moment of silence between the two, Cameron spoke up, "And?"
Squaring up at his desk, Jason gave Cameron a serious look, "I'll be straight with you, Cam, you pared up with your little boy-toy, ain't working for us."
Cameron furrowed her brows, "I don't think that is any of your business."
"I'm not saying to dump the guy, you can have him on the side, but-"
"What do you mean?" Cameron cut him off. "I will not be with another man, Jimmie and I have a healthy relationship. Thank you," she huffed, folding her arms.
Jason put his hands up to calm her, "Listen, listen, I'm talking for appearances, the studio thinks it would be better for PR if you were with someone..." He trailed off, trying to find the right word. "Someone with a little more star power, y'know? Doctors are boring, unless lover-boy could be swayed to make an appearance with you in a film?"
"Absolutely not. He is very busy with his practice, and I have worked my ass off to keep my personal life and my, um, professional life separate from each other." Even Cameron drew the line in making adult films, though it wasn't real s*x, she shuttered at the thought of being remotely intimate with another man.
Jason leaned forward slightly, "Could be hot, though, we could have it take place in a doctor's office, eh?"
"No," she frowned, absolute in her decision.
"Well, if you change your mind, there could be good money in it for both of you," Jason shrugged.
"Not interested," Cameron turned her nose up to him. She would not be discussing this further.
Jason sighed, knowing Cameron couldn't be swayed to talk further about his original proposition when she shut down, "Alright, sugar, we can pick this up at a different time. I guess PR is PR at this point. I'll take what I can get from you." He stood up to open the door for her, dismissing Cameron to continue with her day, "Now go make us some money, honey," he spanked her lightly in a way he thought was endearing, but all the models hated, especially the male models.
