1103 Words
Iris wakes up she slept on the couch in the living room wondering how didn't she get to her room, it is then she remembers that she was touring around the house admiring the house decor then suddenly she felt sleepy until this morning and finding herself in the living room on the couch. She yawns as she stretches her body. She hears steps coming down the stairs she turns to see a fully dressed Gabriel already ready for work, she turns to the time and it is just 6: 39am. “Is he always this early?” She thought to herself. She gives a good look at his physique, this morning and she’s indeed lucky. He has brunette hair with amazing curls which fell off across his face but he keeps them back in place. Still paying attention to him, she sees that his bristly eyebrows align perfectly with his eyes and not to talk about his hawkish nose and a well-defined cheekbone. He had concrete well-lined jaws with a Titan’s shoulders that were like that of a king. He was dishy and muscular that she could even count his abs from the shirt he has on. “How can one man be this handsome” she sulks. His moves evolve a leopard-like grace, poise and prestige as if he owned the world. A rover-blue eyes that she wonders if all males are like that since she grew up only amid girls. His glowing blue eyes are almond-shaped. They say the eyes are the mirror to the soul but his eyes are a-fire with passion. He’s reserved and quiet almost like an introvert. He has a deep voice that sent chills down her spine. He wears ritzy clothes, looking charming and dashing at the same time even his smell is like an earthy scent swirling around him. "Hey, quit the staring," he says. She immediately flings her eyes away cursing herself for being too obvious. She touches her lips as if she’s drooling. She puffs in relief because she isn't. She wonders how why he’s single after being blessed with all these things that “can send a woman to a wet world full of sexy imaginations”. "What the hell Iris! You're stupid to think of such. This is lust and the bible condemns it" she scolds herself. Gabriel watches her hit herself and he begins to wonder if he married a lunatic without knowing because she's beginning to scare him with her awkward act. “By the way, I've registered you in a college and your classes are starting tomorrow," he says. Happily, she jumps in joy not knowing when she hugs him and she lets go immediately “Sorry about that" she apologizes. “Don't touch me!" he frowns. She regrets doing that. She seriously had no second thought “It was mistaken, sir. And I, — though we were married?” words honestly escape her mind. He was so rude to her. r He glances at his wristwatch “I'm getting late" with this said he walks out. “You're lucky the next time it won't be a hug but a punch on your handsome face," she says murmuring deep down. At work, He walks into his office and Diane follows him in with the files from yesterday. “Get me my morning coffee” he orders. She rushes to get it. So far Diane is the only one who can make his coffee just the way he loves it; a balance of milk and sugar. He seats down while looking at the piles of work he has to do for the day. "I won't die today" he sighs in a grievance. Shortly, she comes with the coffee and gently placed it next to him on the table. He raises his eyes at her in an intimidating manner. “What about the files of yesterday? He asks. “Am done with it, sir. Turns out Jimmy mixed up the figures but it's been corrected and Dragon empire has been informed so they don't pull out of the deal" she explained handling the report which has a summary of the presentation she has to do to impress the representatives of the Dragon empire that drop by earlier. “That's good, I won't tolerate any form of mistake. Go to the resource department and collect the month's salary and tell Jimmy that he's fired. He should've been more careful next time so as not to drag one's company to the mud” he rules. Diane stares at him confusingly although she kind of expected this turnout. “Yes sir" she leaves the office to go break the heartbreaking news to Jimmy. His phone rings and it's his father. He sighs not wanting to pick up the call but eventually does. “Hello Dad,” he rolls his eyes like a lady. “You're still meeting with the Taiwan investors?” He asks. “Yes, Dad when am done I'll go over to check if things are under control” He replies. “Collins told your mom and me that you have a wife now. Really, Gabriel?” He sounds annoyed. “It's no big deal," he says. “It is. You know what? Invite her over for dinner tonight, I want to see if you made a good choice" his father persuades. “Is that important..." The line goes off. His father hangs up on him leaving him with no choice but to call the house to prepare Iris for the dinner with his parents. He books her an appointment with a makeup artist and a hair stylist to tush her up before he gets home. He presses some numbers on the telephone. “To my office," he says. Shortly Diane came in, “Sir, you called me," she says wondering what is wrong. "I want you to help me pick a nice dinner gown a lady can wear for a decent dinner with family. I've called the fashion designer to send you her body measurements and shoe size” he Instructs. Looking at Diana’s classic outfit it’s clear that she has good taste. This is not related to work which makes her more frazzled than she has ever been but it's an order. Even if it's out of her portfolio she has to do it to avoid getting fired. "Yes sir" she wearily drags the 'S' and leaves to her office to book a nice dinner gown for the mysterious girl. Although deep down she wishes to see the unlucky girl who will dare date her heartless Boss.
